Me and 2 friends are going to be in Vegas March 19th thru March 23rd for some March madness. I've had a few people tell me it's gonna be way to crowded at the sportsbook, the lines at the window are gonna be an hour long and the tables will be 5 deep with people waiting to play. Can anybody tell if this correct and if it is where should I go to watch and gamble. Thank you for your help!

All depends when and where you are.  It's definitely busy.  General sportsbook seating is gone by 5-6am at most of the casinos.  Some have free watch parties in theaters or ballrooms, some have all inclusive watch parties for a fee.  Lines will be long, especially 1-2hrs before the first set of games.  I always get my bets in the night before for the early rounds.  Tables will definitely be packed.  My group made it's way downtown a few times at night, as limits are lower and availability is higher in most cases.

Check out this FB group, 1 stop shop for info.  Under the "files" tab it lists everything that's been advertised as far as viewing parties for 2013.  http://www.facebook.com/groups/mmilv/

This is absolutely correct, that is why I don't go anymore during March Madness.  If you want to place a halftime bet, you better get in line with at least 5 minutes left to go in the 1st half, otherwise you won't get to the window until after the 2nd half starts.  Forget watching the game in the sportsbooks, unless you liked being packed in like sardines trying to see the screen over some meathead's shoulder.  Guy to girl ratio is 10 to 1.  Best place to watch the games is in your room.

Actually a good time to go play poker, a lot of fish in the rooms.  A lot of sports betters that make the trip think they are good poker players. Poker Rooms will see an uptick in players.

Could going to Henderson be easier for us to watch and gamble for the madness?

Yeah pretty sure some of the off-strips will be a little less crazy.  South Pt, M resort, Green Valley Ranch, Red Rock all have decent books/viewing areas.
