Anyone stay at Harrah's lately?  Wife and I are heading there next week and I was just wondering if anyone has any advice to share.

Mainly interested in how the sports book is (of course), if there are any good eats close by, how the rooms are, etc..  We're being comped two nights with a third night pending if we want it and I'm just wondering what to expect as we haven't been there in 6 years.  By the sounds of the Tripadvisor reviews not much has changed at all but most are happy with the central location on the strip but not much else..

We're not expecting 5 star accommodations but hoping it's not a roach motel...

Thanks in advance for any advice and keep you sticks on the ice!

Sportsbook isn't all that great, small and it gets pretty full but it gets the job done. They are pretty generous with drink tickets though.

Food- harrahs you get kgb burger which is awesome. Next door at the quad there's hash house. Casino Royale you get subway, small pizza joint. Across the street you get the mirage. and there is a mcdonalds, chipotle, panda express 10 steps away from harrahs.

hotel- overall I like it. Clean and comfy rooms. Marble bathrooms and LCD tvs.

Have fun and good luck

Thanks Judgelee.  It's been a while since our last trip and been a while since I placed my last sports wager so I'm totally pumped about the trip.

Appreciate the incite!

I just stayed there in December.  Rooms were very clean and nice.  It's pretty much centrally located so it gets a ton of foot traffic and the casino floor can get pretty packed.  Sportsbook isn't the best but it's good enough.  Great location to walk around and check out other casinos.  Overall I was very happy with it.

Centrally located, 5 to 10 min walk to great books such as the Venetion or the Bellagio.

Make sure you spend some nights at Carnival Court outside of Harrahs, really fun bar with great cover band and DJ.

Carnival court is only open on weekends now as they are renovating the area between Harrahs and the quad(formerly IP). Sportsbook is fine if you just want to place simple wagers.. IE spreads or totals. If you are looking for good food in the $15-20 range, go to the grand lux cafe in either the venetian or palazzo. It is open 24 hrs & you can get anything from breakfast, lunch, or dinner. If you have a car, try out the egg & I restaurant on Sahara for breakfast or herbs and rye for steak(also on Sahara). Go there between 5-8 pm and get 1/2 price happy hour pricing. Apps, filet,& desert for $30 bucks! Can't be beat. Enjoy

Make sure you go say hi to Bart and Jimmy at the poker bar inside the book!

$1.50, 24 oz. beers in the gift shop right down the hall from the book. Get 6 and you r5 new  friends will return the favor!

How ya doin Lefty?

Great advice.  Thanks everyone!  We have rental car so we'll definitely hit herb and rye for steak and the $1.50/24oz beer deal sounds sweet!

Stayed there last year. It was okay. To me, it's a middle tiered hotel/casino. It got the job done.

The poker room had some decent action during the week. The sports book is small, but pretty nice.

You guys are absolutely correct about Harrah's book being small in inadequate.  Basically if the game wasn't on the big screen you just couldn't watch it.  Probably going to head to another book for tonight's action..
