Hit the big Sportsbooks last weekend in Vegas. They were a hoot!!! Sunday in a Sportsbook is something to experience, time and time again. The atmosphere and people were awesome. Now the issues. I wasn't able to bet NASCAR Matchups, Nationwide Series, NFL Single Team Totals or any other NFL Prop Bet. If you want to bet these wagers your forced to go off Strip ( unless someone can point me to another Strip location). I'm with the GF and other Couples so going to the Hilton to bet, watch and collect (hopefully) is a major hassle. I found it irionic sitting in a Vegas Sportsbook betting the Pats ov 31 with my Local and NASCAR Matchups offshore because these Big Books didn't offer everything I needed. Maybe it's me . If the Vegas Strip doesn't understand, how in the world is a place like New Jersey or any other state wishing for Sports Betting going to understand?

Yours Truely Very Confused, Goggles Pisano

Pisano...

There are two issues involved here....

The amount of interest in a bet option and the amount of "paperwork" involved in creating that bet option

You might be a big Nationwide fan; but the amount of action a book would take on this event would be minimal.....creating/monitoring a line that limits the risk of your business (which is the #1 job of the sportsbook manager) is very difficult with the second level of any sport.

Much like taking wagers on D2 football or AAA baseball....When it comes to consistency and how it pertains to the Nationwide series....it's just something that Vegas leaves to the offshores.

NFL totals, matchups, and various props are really much too time consuming for the amount of action that they provide....$10 bets on who scores the 1st TD in a game or O/U on Jacksonville in the 2nd half are just not worth the effort.

Vegas does put those bets out there for Sunday and Monday night football...BUT, trust me on this, the amount of action is pennies compared to the total action....

Consequently, Vegas is more than happy for you to use your offshore account for these bets and take the action on sides and game totals.....

If you ran a book...or were even involved in a book from the backroom, you would agree. These bets are a fraction of the action; and are also kept to that level by the books to keep their risk at a minimum where the sharps are concerned...after all...it is a business.

You can bet Little League Baseball, American Idol, Elections, etc on the Internet....and Vegas is very happy to let that remain the case.....
