#2 Posted: 9/11/2009 5:20:27 PM South Point and The M...Plazmas everywhere...Huge High Def screens everywhere....not like those shitty fuzzy screens you see at Caesars and a lot of the strip casinos. Better service...Live-ingame betting. Easy in easy out...no strip traffic. |

Convienence. Awesome contests(And their nice-tvs, chairs, service)
Props: Lucky's(plaza downtown)
Lines: Leroys always seems to have the best line for the team I want.
They cant beat offshore though. |

#7 Posted: 9/19/2009 1:42:14 AM Locals pretty much use any casino that isn't on the Strip. Most popular would be South Point, Gold Coast, Orleans, M Resort, Vegas Hilton and the Stations.

#8 Posted: 9/23/2009 9:43:51 PM i agree with the south point and the M as being solid. the m is new and real clean and convenient, but watching games at southpoint is downright insane. amazing atmosphere |

#9 Posted: 9/24/2009 3:01:00 PM silverton (but no NBA or NHL cause the owner is also owner of the LA Kings and part owner of the Lakers) aka leroy's closest to the house, south pointe next closest, orleans or gold coast next, cannot get myself to drive past the south pointe to the M although a very nice and first class book. |

#10 Posted: 9/28/2009 2:00:52 PM The one with the best line for whatever side I'm on. Simple as that. I find the line I'm looking for, go there, place my bet and leave.
Here's a good take on a local's view of sportsbooks. I found this a while ago:
A locals take on sportsbooks

#11 Posted: 9/28/2009 5:44:12 PM Hey MWC...Is there a site where you can view lines from all the different books out here or do you drive around wasting $30 worth of gas to put in a $50 bet? |

That was a great write up by the way of why NOT to watch a game in a sportsbook.
It could not have been more dead on!! |

VegasInsider.com has lots of lines from books around Las Vegas but not all of them. Plus they aren't in real time.

Yep, it's pretty close, so I have an idea before I leave the house. Plus, I know which books are usually sharp (Hilton, Coasts, etc) and which are favorite heavy (MGMs, Harrahs, etc).
I also live within a mile or two of three betting outlets which gives me options (Red Rock, Suncoast, Leroys). Example, the Red Rock casino (of which I can walk to) is usually favorite heavy, so I'll go there if I'm looking at a dog. If I want a favorite, I'll got to the Suncoast.

I thought maybe that's what you were talking about. I've been in there, once. I had a ten dollar match play blackjack coupon, played it, and left. Those rinky-dink places hate that garbage. I say, don't print the friggin coupons then.
Anyway, all Buffalo Wild Wings have Leroy's kiosks now. There's one near my house.

#23 Posted: 12/15/2009 6:42:17 AM I am not a local, but I have found that the best place to shop for lines is out on Boulder Hwy... Four good books (not including Longhorn) on a major road within a couple of miles of each other (I believe they are: Eastside Cannery, Sam's Town, Arizona Charlies & Boulder Station). Really easy in and out and willing to print out current odds for you (unlike a lot of strip casinos) and good prop bets.
The other easy line shopping is downtown, there are four or five different books available within walking distance of each other, but the prop bets are nowhere near as good. |

#24 Posted: 12/23/2009 2:11:12 AM Red rock, orleans, hilton. The station joints are all right. And i dont mind Sams Town if im way down there. Stay out of the rinky dink joints. |
