This will be the most hyped MMA fight in history as Lesnar’s mainstream presence will bring about huge media exposure to the growing sports of mixed martial arts that will draw in mainstream media as well as the hardcore WWE geeks.
Randy will win this fight

Good write ups, love the call on Maia, have already pounded him to win the fight as well as parlay props to win and not go the distance.
I am 1000% percent on the other side in the Lesnar fight. You make some good points in referencing Lesnar's last few fights but make no accounting for his improvement or developments during that time. I have some personal ties to a couple of the UFC camps and friends inside the gym say Lesnars ground game and BJJ has gotten sick.....he is a legit purple belt and has been spending 80% of his time training for this fight on the ground......I am actually proping a Lesnar Win by stoppage / submission. I agree with your assessment of the Herring fight but don't think you can compare his approach to Herring and Couture, Herring does nothing on the ground but cover up so Lesnar had no reason to do anything other than just pound away.
I actually thing Lesnar at -120 is a steal and giving Couture WAY WAY WAY to much credit right now, I love Randy but I think his interests have been spread in to many other places lately, aka, Kim's fighting, movies and such. Most importantly look what we know about the fighters Randy was beating up on a couple years ago, Silvia - Garbage, Vera - Garbage, Liddell - which Chuck was it at that time ?  I just think we may have found out some of Randy's "impressvie" wins possibly weren't that impressive looking back.
Should be fun either way but my money is on Lesnar pretty easily.
And I hate Lesnar and that whole WWE shit so this isn't coming from a Lesnar fan.......Lastly I think this is a great matchup style wise for Lesnar, for the same reason I had Mir in his first fight as a terrible match up....Couture won't submit you the way Mir did, Mir is not a ground wrestler but someone looking for finish on the ground.......Couture is going to try and ground and pound on the mat instead of submit and I just don't see that happening.........BEST OF LUCK TO EVERYONE OUT THERE AND GO MAIA

My apologies, too many "pops" when I typed that I meant Gonzaga, not Vera.....the point I made was thinking of Gonzaga when I wrote, knowing now what we know about Gonzaga, Randy's win looks much less impressive

I'm not sure where to start with your post. You say that Lesnar is a BJJ 'legit purple belt'. Do you know anything about BJJ? It can take people up to 6 years to earn that belt. I highly doubt Lesnar has gone from getting caught in a kneebar by BJJ artist Frank Mir (I believe a black belt) to a purple belt in 9 months.

I also am wondering about your knowledge of MMA since you are saying that Tim SYLVIA is garbage. That's ridiculous to call a former Heavyweight Champ 'garbage'. Not many people were giving Randy a chance versus Timmy because of the size differential there as well and we saw what happened.

And what is your point about Gonzaga? He has lost three times in his career against Couture and Fabricio Werdum (twice). How does that make him garbage? Not sure what you're trying to prove there.

I am not doubting that Randy is going to come into this fight with a determined mindset and a strategy that will enable him to win... but I think for once that the more physically superior opponent will do him in this time in Brock Lesnar. Lesnar is a beast, and being a NCAA wrestling champ he holds an incredible amount of skill in the area of MMA which has been and still is Randy's calling card. Randy's only chance at victory is to control position on the ground and slow down this fight IMO.

There is absolutely no way he is a purple belt

He trains at an MMA club with no real BJJ black belts

heres what i wrote and i also have been told be insiderson Lesnars ground game

Lesnar on the other hand trains with Minnesota Martial Arts Academy under Greg Nelson, and University of Minnesota Head Assistant wrestling coach Marty Morgan. This is basically a MMA school for wrestlers. He will not become a complete fighter fighting in a club that is full of wrestlers. Brock will go into this fight lacking basic fundamentals in MMA fighting like proper striking and a solid submission and defense game.

i was told by an insider that lesnar is just working on sprawlig and his grappling is limited to about 2 to 3 subs, with a focus on the kimura and americana

I'm still undecided on this fight. I want to place a bet on Randy, but I keep thinking " he's 45 years old, he hasn't fought in a year, and he has so much else going on in his life asides from Brock Lesnar." On the other side, to quote Lesnar from the Spike program, "I'm an Ultimate Fighter." I'm sure Lesnar has been focusing on nothing but beating Randy. He knows his game has holes, I'm sure he's been working on improving all aspects of his game. I'm not sure how a 45 year old man can beat a 285lbs gorilla. The only thing that scares me is that the linesmakers opened this as basically a pick. Randy has always been the underdog, and of course the public money is going to be huge on Lesnar. The line has since adjusted some, but why give anybody a chance at a pick line? I've been reading all posts here and other sites, trying to make up my mind. I want to bet Randy but can't seem to pull the trigger.

I hate lesnar with a passion but I cant imagine him losing this fight. What people are failing to realize is Lesnar isnt  Tim Syliva, who in my opinion is just  a large unathletic giant. This man is strong and fast and is a NCAA Champion Wrestler. Randy is overated for one, I like Randy but this is so true he hasnt fought anyone lately that hasnt been half retarded. Brock has a drive and a thirst for winning and thats all its gonna take.

I've said it before, I believe Randy is a smart fighter. He knows how to train for whatever type of fighter he is going against. with all the crap that happened when he left the UFC, I just don't see him not coming in prepared and ready to prove himself. I see Randy winning but I do believe it will a tough fight. Brock is no slouch.

instead of trusting a link posted by some idiot.  here are my reasons why this is bad matchup for couture.    
 
couture does not have great standup or sub.  he relies solely on the clinch and gnp.  he will not be able to take lesnar down.  lesnar is an ncaa wrestling champ and has great take down defense, not to mention he is bigger, faster, stronger.  randy does not have a good chin, losing to liddel twice by ko.  psychologically, randy has everything to lose while lesnar does not, this will be a huge factor in this fight.  and last but not least.. he's 45.  he took a year off to film movies!  as for credibility, randy impressed me with sylia, but gonzaga is a nobody.  everyone gives him too much credit for crocop.  lesnar on the otherhand should be 3-0.  mir got lucky, and we all know that.   
 
couture does have a shot.  i only see him winning if lesnar gasses or if he injures himself.  other than that, easy win for lesnar.  lesnar by tko!

maitr3, agree with most of that. mainly the fact that lesnar is bigger, stronger, and faster while being just as good if not better wrester.  i dont think anyone who should be or has fought at light heavyweight can beat lesnar

My book has Lesnar at -150 now...lotta money pouring in. 

I wanna see a good fight more than anything...I don't see Dana White being very enthusiastic if Couture wins.

lesnar has been climbing all week, was up to 150 couple days ago.  as high as 160 ive seen then down to 145.
 
i fucking hate dana though, so it'll be bittersweet when lesnar wins
