Sorry to start a new thread boys, but I got sick of scrolling down hundreds of posts in that old one. Hopefully though, only a new thread but the old streak remains the same . Remember this is a 'No Bull' NFL season for me.
Anyhow, where was I before getting rudely interrupted?! Oh yeah, week 2 of the Pre-Season offers a nice total on the Steelers vs Buffalo Bills. Pitt looked pretty sharp last week in both ends of the field i.e. offence as well as D. Tomorrow I expect the fwd. line to clock in a full game and earn their pay against the Bills, whereas the backline to experimentally be chopped 'n changed as the coaching staff tests their various defensive crew!
And mate, what the bloody hell was up with Buffalo last week? I believe they'll come out swinging in front of their home crowd as the whole season ticket sales and memberships are on the line. Win or lose, the crowd want to see the Bills ability to touch the end of the line. Faith, confidence and trust needs to be restored in front of their home supporters.
As Pitt chops and changes their line up during the late stages of the game, look for the Bills to stick their nose in and take it up to the Steelers' "young guns'.
The line opened at 33.5 and here in the land DownUnder we can now get it at 31 flat!
Pick: OVER 31 for 3.5 Unit play
Fosters and good luck all around in this high scoring game

Pitt normally plays under in preseason. Their backup offence did not show much and I don't think Dixon or Leftwich will do much after Big Ben leaves the game. Their D looks good.
Now I think the Bills will get some early but have the feeling of another second half D show from both teams. The Bills-Skins game was at 28 after the first half last week and only a FG in the second half.
I'll be watching the game and rooting for you my friend!

Aussie,
The line I have with my book is 33 right now.
Couple of things concern me on the over.

I got the over 33. I agree with the total based on the fact that Pitts just picked up a very capable backup in Leftwich and I believe we see a good amount of time from him as well as Dixon as hes looked pretty good too. Not sure about buff, but I know Pitts will hold up there end of the scoring.

how can you be conident in leftwich?? there is a reason he was a FA. you think he will be able to run any kind of offense after less then a week of practice?

Iam from jacksonville and pete prisco hes a cbssportsline nfl writer that has a show in jacksonville , he just came from PIT's training camp and coachs are raving about leftwich picking up the system . iam with ya on the over at 33 but going to sit on it to see if it goes down

I still can't see Leftwich picking it up that fast or the coaches calling many different plays for him in this game. I also heard on sports radio that they are more interested in seeing if Dixon has anything to show in this game and will get more time.
Dixon did nothing against the Eagles last week.

whatever bro, take the under then and prove us wrong.
Leftwich is picking up the system well and should look decent, better than most college kid backups we have been seeing so far this pre season.

The game is played in Toronto and not Buffalo. Does the home crowd still a factor?
In fact, no I wasn't aware of this until I read your post last night. However, I don't think it makes any difference imo, because Rogers Cntr. should be considered home ground to the Bills due to their 5 yr deal they've signed. Therefore, by default I see this as being played "at home".
Let's get the paper here boys AUSSIE

I live in Toronto and I dont see this being a home game for the Bills at all. I think the majority of the fans will be neutral, and I cant imagine many if any fans from Buffalo travelling up for this game.

This topic has suddenly taken a life of its own - Here, This is my last post re. this "home ground" ordeal:
We have excately similar deals that take place here in Australian Football. Meaning that teams from another city or state sign lucrative deals with other states for this certain team to play their "home" games in front of this new crowd. That's obviously done to raise the profile of the game in that state but also sponsorship deals and what have you. The team does in fact consider that to be their new home. But more importantly if they want to be adopted by this new state (or country in Buffalo's case) they need to pull their finger out of their ass and show and give excitment to the new "ignorant" crowd and sponsors who are going to vote with their pockets!
Of course early on in the season the fans will be dumbfounded and/or neutral to this "new" sport, but it's up to the Bills to plug the game and themselves and excite their audience!
Now this may or may not go over the total, but the above stands TRUE about deals and sponsorships with different grounds and states.
Will chat to you after the game ...
Sincerely AUSSIE

The only ignorance i see is coming from you thinking this is a "new" sport to the people in attendance tonight. Might be a bit harsh on my part but common now.
