Green Bay last 8 playoff games is 2-6. All you homers who love Brett Favre, consider this. How many big playoff games has he won without Mike Holmgren?? Remember a young, wild QB named MIke Vick who rolled into Lambeau and beat Favre and the Pack as a substantial underdog? I enjoy Favre as much as the next guy, but his style is dicey in the playoffs when going against a solid D. His risk taking mentality works a lot better against poor defenses....also, is there a coach in the country who knows Favre's tendencies better than Mike Holmgren? I think not. I see at least 2 int's coming from Brett and that will keep this game tight all the way.....with Josh Brown winning this game late. Sorry Pack homers, but the 2007-08 joy ride ends here.

How about when an overrated Daunte Culpepper and Vikings team that beat their asses in GB? Minnesota barely squeaked into WIld Card spot and GB swept the regular season series too. That's a choke in my book.

I'm no homer but definitely a backer this week and can see clear facts. How about a Favre that completed a season with the highest com % of his career and 2nd best qb rating since 96'?? If you watched any Packer games this year you would have seen that he has not forced the issue like in years past where he took the game on his shoulders. Grant is NFL's leading rusher in final 8 weeks and the offense has become very balanced. This game comes down to Sea being able to stop GB. On the other side GB will keep Sea in check w/ their one dimensional pass happy offense.

I admit Mcarthy has done an OUTSTANDING job controlling Favre. That's why it's BS he didn't win AP Coach of the Year. Favre has never been coachable until Mcarthy came along. EVen Holmgren couldn't coach him. I am sure he is wondering how the hell Favre is playing a high level.
WHat's so funny is that GB's offense is not complicated at all. Take away the slant, forcing the old Favre to come back and throw into double coverage. Then he will complete one of them and he will be a hero just to throw another pick when it matters most. Look at the last CHicago game. Weather and CHicago D took away the slant and they couldn't do squat.
Seattle offense is way more complicated - Holmgren is an offensive genius.
Sure GB could win but by 3

Yes, Seattle has changed their offensive mentality, but they run the ball effectively enough for what the west coast offense calls for. Favre has been better this year about taking risks, but this is the playoffs and all the pressure is on the Pack to win at home and advance. Favre's mentality combined with Seattle's pass rush is a recipe for disaster in a big game, period. I guarantee if the Pack fall behind early Favre will abandoned the run and throw it all over just like he always has. I love Favre just like everyone else, but I would not trust him in this spot as he has failed miserably many times since Holmgren left.

line opened Packers -8 1/2 and Shawks ML +300 where I book in Las Vegas. now down to Packers -7 1/2 and Shawks +280 so it look like there are other bettors thinking the same way.
prop bet of Shawks +3 1/2 +180 worth a shot?

I have to go with GB here. Even if Farve throws a pick or two he will make some big plays. Probably has his best group of WRs ever (key word is group) and has a solid running game to go with them. Sea has no running game this year and a beat up QB. Not looking good for the sea hawk.

Want to hit a 7 pt. tease with NE -6 and GB -.5, but that f'in Chicago loss is really holding me back from pulling the trigger. Can we get some more arguments here? Seattle handled GB earlier in the season . . .

I'm a Green Bay fan and laying money on my team, BUT, they are a young team so anythging could happen here. I do not buy into the "take away the slants" bullshit.. someone must have watched NFL Tonight to make that brilliant observation. All West Coast offenses use the slant, including Seattle.
Green Bay is extremely balanced now that Grant has stepped up the running game, they have a great deep threat with Jennings, super posession receivers in Driver & Jones, Lee is not a great blocker but has great hands for a TE and the offensive line is strong. Favre is of Favre and for the reasons just listed has not had to carry the team on his back. That is why he has had such a sollid year.
To me Seattle did not look that good last week playing a team that was essentially playing on pure adrenalin. Alexander is spent, no question and they are not the same team on the road. IMO Hasselback looks a littlte beat up.
Both defenses are good, no question. Favre will need protection and I think his O line gives it to him. Do not know the same with Seattle due to their lack of running lately.
Seattle is far more one dimensional right now than GB and away from home, GB covers. They haven't gotten any respect at all this year and they were 13-3 with a tougher schedule then Seattle.
Good luck to all regardless. Lets all make some .

Sea is 3-5 on the road ATS, only decent win was vs Philly(not a playoof team). Most think they are a bad road team and a very good home team. GB is 7-1 ATS at home. Maybe this is why the line is 7.5? Maybe this is too easy?

You are correct but can you tell me who was the running back for them that year and was he worth a shit? Who ever it was doesn't matter because the next answer is NO IT DOESN'T MATTER!!! Ryan Grant is a huge factor in this ball game. Another thing is the difference in defense. I'll give it to Seattle that they have a good defense but what everyone is looking past is the Green Bay defense that held this same Seattle team in check in the playoffs before. I don't even like Farve but you have to give the advantage to the home team with a proven Hall of Fame QB with run game that is worth a shit, unlike Seattle's which is non-existent. I like Green Bay in this one by atleast 10!!!
Green Bay 27, Seattle 17

If Seattle jumps out to an early lead or leads late in the 3rd qtr. does anyone really believe that Favre won't try and win this game by himself?? Cmon guys, you can't teach an old dog new tricks and ALL the pressure is squarely on the Pack. Hasselbeck will outplay Favre today because he has no pressure on him.....Holmgren was just on the radio Friday saying that his team is loose as can be and ready to just lay it on the line....anyone who has played sports knows that playing loose with no pressure allows you to play better. I respect everyone's opinion, but there is absolutely know way that this game isn't close late in the 4th.....Save Viniateri, I would take Josh Brown over anyone else to make a big kick. Gonna be a fun game to watch whichever side your on....Hawks +8 is my POD. GL fellas
