There is one universal rule in sports: Defense is everything. Defense wins games, defense wins championships, and most importantly, defense cover games.
Patriots face the strongest opponent of them all in this category, yet they are still laying double digits.
People try to give a reasons to play Patriots. They are underfeated (good enough), they have an outstanding ATS record (sounds good to me), but a third reason I am reading is the fact that Patriots have been vulnerable and looked beatable the past two games against mediocre/bad teams, that means they will bring everything and "win big" against a superior team.
What is that?
What kind of reasoning is that?
In my 15+ years of betting on sports, I've lost countless times having the same mentality.
"Oh. this pitcher has struggled in the past 3 games, he will bring his best in this game"........LOST
"This team is playing real bad lately, they've only covered twice in their last 10 games, but I think they matchup well in this situation and should win big"......LOST
"This player has struggled for the past 2 games, he will not struggle for a third time in a row"....PLAYER HAD THE WORST GAME OF THE THREE.....
etc, etc, etc.
In this business, we are not supposed to predict the future, we are supposed to play based on the facts given to us and make adjustments.
But that type of thinking is not going to get you anywhere in the long run.
If Patriots win this game, they will go undeafeated in the regular season.
I am grabbing the underdog that has all the ingridients to play this team for a full 60 minutes and will pressure Brady like no other team has done it in the past.
They need to control clock, run, run, run, and play their game.
Tremendous value in this game for me.
