The SuperBowl is finally upon us and we have the San Francisco 49ers going against the Baltimore Ravens. One thing everyone seems to agree on is that this will be a defensive battle as we do have 2 of the better defensive units in the league going against each other.

If the 49ers want to win this game they cannot let this turn into the afore mentioned defensive struggle as the Ravens thrive in such games as their big play quarterback( Flacco ) is also suited to such a game plan as the pressure then is off him and he would need just one or two big plays to win the game for his team which he is capable of.

Kaepernick has great speed and one of the strongest arms in the league and has proven to be gold during crunch time.These teams are very evenly matched in most aspects.

The motivation is always great on both sides when playing in the biggest football event of the year. I feel the Ravens have a slight edge here as they have been in the hunt for a championship since 2002 and this will be their last realistic shot at it for sometime to come as we all know how the ravens played when they were without the service lewis, reed etc.Ray Lewis is one of the greatest motivators of all time and he will have his team ready.

My pick is RAVENS +3 . I am more than ready to take points on a team that beat Peyton Manning and the Denver defense in Denver and Tom Brady and the Patriots in Foxborough.

First of all, thank you for your opening sentence. Sometimes when you read so many threads, one can forget who the combatants our.

Second, if these are two great defensive teams, why is the O/U just short of 50 (2.5 short of 50 as of today). Could it be because by the end of this game, it might become a real shootout?

It's been my experience that if it looks to good to be true, it isn't. It's going to take every ounce of gambling sense for me to do the right thing and bet this game on the over. It won't be popular, but that is going to be one of my bets.

I'm still wobbling on the side, leaning Bmore, it's going to be hard to get me off that angle. We'll see come SB day. BOL on your bets PSP.

cooler....you think the public is pounding the under? Most of me wants to take the over as both teams have put up at least 28 points last two games.

I would expect the total to be at 51 and it is set at 47 because its a lot easier to take the over at that total then it would be at 51.
