I want to take atl but how are you guys justifying... Seahawks strength on defense is to stop the pass.... And more importantly how are you justifying Seahawks averaging 4.8 yds per carry and atl giving up 4.8 yes per carry... Andddd how cam newton toar this def up with the option read.? But need help from atl backers on how they overcome those stats?

what i left out in mine is that atlanta at home vs. seattle on the road, atlanta is better in offensive and defensive ypp, ppp, 3rd down conv % and rz %. 8 major categories that i use to cap games. seattle is only better in 1 or 2 of the categories but not sure which, in a rush so i cant dig through numbers.

Here are three major reasons why I'll be on the Falcons in a large way today:
1. The Falcons have been dispatched from the playoffs in embarrassing fashion each of the last three seasons. Despite all their regular season success, the knock on the entire franchise--from top to bottom--has been that they can't get it done in the playoffs, that they're a paper tiger. If Atlanta loses today, you'll see major changes in Atlanta. If Seattle loses, you'll hear how excited they are for next season and how this season was such a major step forward forward for a young team. More simply, this game means more to the veteran Falcons than the Seahawks could know. The Falcons will be "all in" this afternoon.
2. Seattle just played their "all in" game last weekend. Down 14-0, they had to expend significant energy to roar back and take down the Redskins. Add in that they'll now be travelling over 7,000 miles within 7 days and that this is effectively a 10:00am Pacific start time for them, and it's a (young) team being asked to overcome a whole lot.
3. Atlanta's preparation for this game. Simply put, they knew they had the #1 seed locked up headed into Week 17 against the Bucs, yet they elected to play all their starters while deploying a vanilla gameplan. Not only did they besmirch their perfect home record, they lost Robinson/Abraham to what looked like major injuries. What did this scenario do? It's had them laser-focused since, and their preparation during the bye and this past week has been one of a team on a mission. No overlooking the opponent, resting on the laurels of home field advantage (a la the Broncos). As mentioned above, they will be ready to play today.

I also think the Clemons injury is big for the Seahawks. They are losing arguably their best player on defense. To me that with the travel, 10 am Pacific start. I will take ATL.

Adding a fourth reason:
In games following a loss, the Falcons are 20-3 ATS.
