Indy is clearly the more talented. So why bet Jags tonight?

Question

I see a lot of you on Jags, and I will first look to play the Jags.  But so far all I can come up with is Colts.  The only good reason to play Jags that I can see is 1 situational angle of a letdown spot.  Anything else?  I know the cb&#x27;s are out but lets be real.  Jags have a real hard time passing the ball.  My detroit lions have damn near a college secondary and they couldnt score til garabage time.  So I ask what else you got that I am missing to back the Jags.

OK, so the red hot, emotionally fueled(Pagano situation) 5-3 Colts and their stud rookie QB come into Jacksonville on a Thursday night to play the hapless 1-7 Jaguars who have been outscored at home 126-34 in 4 games, AND are missing their best player.

Now ask yourself.....Why in the hell are the Colts only giving 3 points? Doesn't that seem a little off?

The Colts have played 3 road games. They won the most recent one in Tennessee in OT. The previous 2 road games, they were absolutely throttled in Chicago and in NY. 41-21 and 35-9.

Maybe the Colts come out and do what everyone else has done, and just kill Jax. But I'm guessing the Jags win this one.

Everyone playing the letdown spot.   Like when the beat GB then got smoked by Jets who are almost as bad.   3.  I still think people remember last year when Jags beat Balty when they where DD dogs.&#xD;&#xA;I think this all adds up to a low spread but just not enough to compensate for the talent on the field.  &#xD;&#xA;Once again the points going towards the Jags are refs, not enough points, situational.  Nothing regarding the talent on the field.  Not sure how some of you ignore this as its the single most important thing in capping.

Sportsbooks just took a huge hit last weekend, which they need to do sometimes in order to keep the public interested in laying money on games.However, once the books pay out the public like this, don&#x27;t expect it to happen again like that for the rest of the season.  The public will still win some games, but now look for books to start cleaning house again on prime time games and heavily wagered games.Setting the line at Colts -3 is begging for action on the Colts.  In this situation, AFTER THE BOOKS TOOK A HIT, if they are begging for action on one side, go the other way.

Some/most of this might have been mentioned above, but here it goes:

-Rookie QB on the road (where the Colts are not half as good as at home)
-Off an emotional win
-With a short week rest
-As a favorite
-Against a team who knows that they can beat them
-That is improving (last week they made strides in the passing game last week)

How are the Colts the books side when they are giving only a FG to a team that is seemingly inferior? Based on the percentages alone, it would indicate that the Jags are the books side. Not saying that they will win(although I have them for tomorrow), but you don&#x27;t even need to check a site to figure out that three out of four people will be on the Colts as they are red hot and are going against the worst statistically ranked team in the entire NFL. Care to clarify or was there something I misunderstood?

basically what im saying is i want to take the jags just off the fact that they are a single digit home dawg but when i go into and try and cap the game i see only a bet on the colts but exact to what you say 3-4 people will be on colts so i would like to get on the books side but sure as u think the jags are the books side indy will win by at least a td... the more more more and more we all discuss its begining to look like a no play... 2 sorry teams imo that the books will tell which side to win imo so as i said u have to flip a coin and hope u got the right side good luck

typically i would probably bet the jags in this spot for alot of the reasons mentioned above. but i am not going to bet against an inspired team that looks like it will make the playoffs if they keep playing hard. i think it is not sharp but actually stupid to take a 1 win team that plays pathetic and probably has 0 inspiration. you are hoping jax finally shows up because they have reached rock bottom and dont want to be an embarrassment anymore. i think its easier to lose your 8th game of the season then win your 2nd. its now that time of the year where teams may pack it in.

this line begs for indy money and its coming in. can see the books getting hosed again tonight. this is a no play. dont want to bet against the colts and dont want to bet against the books.

Colts wins (5) are a total of 19 points combined. Hard as it is, Im taking the points. Colts should win but as posted above, those 5 reasons and my own, im taking the points.
