the only logical explanation would be a the kickoff. player safety.

but any time you get a defensive score, you keep it. defense doesn't score much and they take pride in that. just took away a sack/safety from your defensive player. i'm pretty sure the 49er player who got the holding call is mad that he didn't get his sack even though they won.

Less chance of injury to a player.  There would have been an onside kick on the punt (yes that is legal) and there would have been a pileup of players where an injury can occur. And once they decline the penalty the game is basically over since they get the ball and just kneel down twice.

you snap the ball twice, two chances of fumbling up 7.

up 9, onside kick. first off, seahawks need to recover and score without any time outs. then they need to onside kick and recover again and score again.

both scenarios are unlikely, but taking safety means you are up 2 possessions rather than one.

Heh. Of course it's the not taking the safety and going for the kneeldown. Out of every game in the NFL and college, have you ever seen a failed kneeldown? I have seen the fumble, but the offense always recovers. That's why there are 2-3 guys with the QB. Even if you fail, Seattle still has to go the full field to tie. Then you can still win in OT.

Onside kick is going to be 10-15% chance. Get 30 yards and kick FG. Probably 20-40%. Recover another onside, another 10-15%. Hail Mary 5% per attempt. And if this happens you lose.

Wow are you an idiot.  Yes two more points but also an onside kick and risk injury to players much more than injury to players on a kneel down.

Only the first snap mattered.  The second snap was at 3 seconds.  Please.

Nobody has ever fumbled a kneel down in the history of the NFL.

Once again the receiver got the first down on the replay.. If the officials would have moved the ball to the yard line there's no question he accepts the safety

I'm about ready to give up.

Teams have lost after being up by two possessions before.  It happens a lot. 

Why give the other team a chance at all?  Take a knee and the game is over. 

Accept the penalty and you  give the other team a chance at gaining possession again.  Not smart.

pretty obvious you don't know much about sports. did you not see chargers v chiefs last year on halloween? chiefs ended up winning game in OT because rivers fumbled. PLEASE. lmao. i still won 2k off game, but should of been 3k.

Atleast that's what JH said..  Take the 2 points, let Seattle kick, tell your players to let the ball  drop and roll where ever it may. No harm no foul.. At this point your talking about a 9 point lead/2 possession not 1.. JH you sick twisted fuck.. Only coach in the NFL who would do that.

Look,, nobody can debate that Jim Harbaugh isn't the sharpest tool in the shed.. He's pretty much a knuckle dragging neanderthal.. The refs should of spotted the ball right then he wouldn't have had to take off his shoes to count to 9.   These are the same refs who spotted the ball on the 1 when the receiver ran through the endzone..
