The Cards were on cloud 9 after beating the Pats and stomping the Eagles before they looked ahead or at the very least were flat against a dangerous Phins team. The Cards have been awesome since the 2nd half of last season so they know they are good and can win games they get behind in. After last Sunday they will be back down tto Earth with their focus. Despite the speed bump, they have been on a tear so they are still confident and go to a building where they always have success, in St. Louis. The Cards in fact sound a little irritated that some people think they are a fluke:
''It's not luck, I can tell you that,'' coach Ken Whisenhunt said. ''It can't be luck as many times as we've been successful with that.'' Zona's motivated cause people think they are a fluke with these wins (they are due for a blowout IMO). They also infamously got spanked in a Thursday game in 2008 and many of their players remember that. With that in mind and this being a divisional game they won't let up.
This is the first time on the primetime for the Rams under Fisher. They might be a little jittery. The Rams have played very very physical teams and with this being a short weeek with a new coach, Fisher will not have a ton of time to prepare for the Zona blitzes whereas the Zona core has been together a while. The Rams have 3 big O-Line injuries, and I think with the short week the great Zona pass rush wreaks havoc, since their run D is very good and SJax is banged up (lots of 3rd and longs).
The Cards run game will be okay against STL. St. Lou secondary is good but I don't think Finnegan shuts down Fitz who'll be up to the challenge. Kolb has been a loser his whole career, but for him to have come back and led the team to that comeback victory after such a terrible game, he will believe in himself that he can get the job done.
I think the Cards will have their winning streak end in Week 6 not Week 5. They are a fringe playoff team, but I don't think they get exposed this week.

mtBAKER: Great write up! Just perusing these forums and it seems almost everyone is on the RAMS tonight which makes me think the other side might be the play. Thanks for the angles - Good Luck!

My main concern is for the Cardinals is Kolb...poor stats on Turf
I think Kolb will be very confident heading into this one. Last week was a typical game he would have lost. Instead his teammates will now really believe in him and he knows he can get it done.

Cards have no respect...how are they winning w/out a run game?
They'll get enough yards on the ground vs. a mediocre Rams D, they've also been sporting a no-huddle from last week on certain drives, Rams might not be able to prepare well for that

I agree neither of these teams have enough respect- that's why they are both 3-1 ATS on the year, I still think Zona's undervalued and people don't think they are a good team, but Zona believes they are

I haven't been too concerned with what the percentages say. I think it's pretty split more or less. I think the Cards are motivated and matchup well with the Rams. Should be a good game.
