Don't Blame the Refs

They've been put in a terrible position.

Blame the owners.

I thought last night would be the end of this nonsense.  Tonight was the capper.

I feel so dirty taking the money.

Skipster..congratz,  I was on Packers and they should have won but don't feel about taking your winnings..honesly.  The officiating was horrendous......Steve Young is correct,  I don't have to watch the NFL...I can watch high school football and college and go about my life with no problem.  I don't need the NFL with all this shit that is fixed, corrupt and simply broken.  This is just as bad as boxing.

Great Point.   A business that makes Billions is trying to save a few bucks and it's killing the integrity of the game.

They are in a terrible position, BUT this is your job. If you can't do, get out.

The problem with how bad they are is, they reviewed it and still called it a touchdown. I understand possibly calling it on the field as TD, but AFTER you review it and still call it a TD. I don't think that is being in the wrong position. Clearly, that is just being incapable.

Oh and I had no money on this game, although Packers was my lean. Glad I didn't.

Wait, how is it as bad as boxing.  I think the replacement refs are in way over their heads  and are easily influenced by the home crowd.  Had this game been in Green Bay, I believe the refs would have gotten it right and the Packers would have won, but because the refs probably feared for their lives as they contemplated overturning the call.  Whereas for a seasoned veteran official, he would have not been affected by the home crowd and what might happen if he overturned it.  But I don't get your boxing analogy.  I don't see the corruption.  I mean are you implying the officials had money on the seahawks?  If that were the case why wait until the final play to make such an impacting call?

My issue is these Refs aren't qualified.  It's like taking 1st year chef students and telling them to run the kitchen in a very busy restaurant.  Can't be done well.

goatmc:  the bad calls were made throughout the game....its a combination of a lot of things  but I agree with you, these refs are influenced by the home crowd and coaches...they don't have the panache to make the correct calls....a lot of announcers have used the analogy of substitute teachers that have lost control of a classroom.

You don't think the ref's are frustrated as fuck, after being brought up knowing the situation? Knowing the responsibilty, the stress THE HONOR?

Give 'em a break this isn't their fault but at least they're attempting to make a difference, unlike Goodell, the hypocryte preaching about "DISRESPCTING THE LEAGUE".........

I don't blame them. The replacement refs actually bring more excitement to a boring game. But I prefer watching college football anyways.

That was a bullshit call by the ref. But blame Jenning for thinking about his stat then about the team. Most players would just knock it out or down, then trying to get a interception added to your stat. Deserve to lose...

The play was not actually reviewable.  Posession of the catch can't be reviewed.

I thought the two refs gave different signals. If that is true it seems appropriote to review the play due to that alone..

Jenning caught the ball, Tate gets one arm on ball after the catch, they get to the ground and fight over the ball?

Since they are called REFEREES, but are completely incompetent, should be exculpate them instead of any and all responsibility by calling them innocent bystanders in zebra gear?

These  assholes  got it wrong on the field and worse fucking reviewed it and got it wrong again. Nothing new though think Steelers vs. Chargers. No more betting WWE  errrrr NFL for me I am done with that bullshit. Sadly the regular refs are not much better but they are better.
