What will the Giants do when sf takes away the deep passing game?

Here is how I see the game going:SF locks in on pressuring eli taking away the pass and forces the giants to beat them on the ground.The Giants have the worst rushing offense in the league ranked 32and sf has the #1 rushing D so i dont see any ground game getting going for giants.The giants passing game is built on the deep pass not the dink and dunk like the pats with lots of weapons and formations.When you put pressure on a qb you take away the deep pass just like they took it away from Brees. And the oline of the saints is better than the giants.I think the 49&#x27;s will get right after eli and stay after him all game just tons of pressure. That how you beat the giants.

Your problem is imagining the 49ers take away the deep passing game. It's not going to happen.

The Cowboys blitzed Eli all game at Dallas and he just ran away from the rush and threw deep balls all game.

Bud are you comparing the Cowboys D with SF D.the Giants were beat 7 times during the season i am sure SF is gonna look at some of that footage like the at how the Eagles and Wash SHUT DOWN the Giants offense

I don&#x27;t think it is the deep passing game that has hurt opponents. What the GMen do well is RUN after the catch, sans Hail Mary, Td&#x27;s were not long passes.

Well as it turns out SF has the same amount of sacks as the Cowboys in the regular season (42).  They have Demarcus Ware who&#x27;s a terror on the pass rush.SF can shut down the run game but to say they&#x27;ll shut down the pass game is just a dream.As for the Skins they beat the Giants twice.  They have the Giants number.  I don&#x27;t think you can automatically say the SF Giants defense is going to play like the Redskins.  I mean who knows but I doubt they look like the Redskins out there.

True they&#x27;re not a finesse team.  They beat teams down with Thunder and Lightning running backs.  A physical team like the 9ers sometimes hates to be outphysicaled themselves/not able to dictate how the game is played.But like I said the 9ers CAN shut down the run game, will they we shall see.

The niners are a GREAT tackling team.  They preach fundamentals.. They&#x27;re not gonna try to knock people to the ground instead of tackling like GB and other teams do, they go for the tackle and they go hard.  Finally someone realizes that NYG won&#x27;t have as great of deep passing as they normally do, which usually wins them games.  And if it rains? Good luck on NYG moving the ball.

Eh?What about the 60 yard pass for the Saints last touchdown?  The 30 yard pass for a touchdown?  Just off the top of my head....Brees passed for 462 yards, does that sound like a shutdown to you?Honestly man if you say shut down the run game at least that would make some semblance of sense....the 9ers are not a shutdown pass team they just aren&#x27;t.  Good defending the pass yes, but they specialize against the run, certainly not the pass.

You are only remembering the last half of the 4th q naturally..Aside from the 66 yard pass to Graham and the 44 yarder to sproles in the 4th q thats it for long passes. Just 2 in the whole game. Most of the passes were under 30 yards. And we know there is no better team with the deep pass than the saints and brees.I know sf specializes in shutting down the run not the pass, but my point was they will limit the DEEP pass as they did against the saints. The Giants running game is not good enough to have to concentrate on stopping their passing downfield to cruz and hicks is their strength. SF will focus on limiting this as they did against the saints and I think they will be again successful.

Well in the 1st half the Saints kept turning the ball over.Despite 5 turnovers they passed for 462 yards.  That&#x27;s a great game passing if you have zero turnovers.Last time Cruz played San Francisco Eli passed for 311 yards.  They&#x27;re not going to shut down the passing game.  They have a great defense but it&#x27;s just not going to happen so stop dreaming IMO

Limit the passing game is sane.

They can only shut down the run game. And shutting down the run game will be key.

But as the highlights showed, the offense is going to revolve around Eli's passing game. The running game on track would be a huge help IF it happens.
