#1 Posted: 11/30/2011 12:03:56 AM Philadelphia Eagles @ Seattle Seahawks
So far I have seen about 6 threads saying they are on the seahawks big because of these reasons: "Eagles are done" "Eagles suck" "No way they can make the playoffs, there done." I made a large bet on the Eagles ML two weeks ago against the Giants and advised a bunch of people to stay away from them last week against the Pats so I feel pretty confident in betting on this team at the moment. Yes I agree that the Eagles have no chance at the playoffs but this is not a bad spot for them as a lot of you think, in fact I think the opposite. First of all the Seahawks just lost their top threat Sidney Rice to a second concussion in 3 weeks. There only other threat is Marshawn Lynch. Although he chould pile up a good amount of yards against the Eagles run defense, there's noone else. The Seahawks just gave up 314 yards to Rex Grossman (who?). Vince Young knows this could be his last chance to showcase his talents before Vick comes back next week. Good or not he will be focused. Tarvaris Jackson just completed less than 50% of his passes to the Redskins, what will he do without his star receiver this week? Seahawks have a great homefield advantage but the only thing that team can do well is stop the run. The Eagles have underperformed this year due to two reasons: Chemistry and Expectations. Say all you want about them sucking but they have loads of talent. The lack of an off-season or any time to get reps with each other really hurt this team as they have had no time to gel with one another. Another thing was their expectations and the whole 'dream team talk' and 'superbowl or bust talk' which put way too much pressure on this team that hasn't even started to gel yet. Now that they are out of the playoff hunt, I see them playing MUCH more relaxed and pressure-free. DeSean Jackson had 3 drops last week and was not only booed but benched. I think he'll bounceback. The Eagles secondary was just embarrassed but that was to one of the best teams in the league, I think they'll bounceback. Vince Young is playing for a contract. Before this game the Eagles basically had to win out to make the playoffs, now with that monkey off their back I expect them to roll as everyone else begins to doubt them. The last 3 times the Eagles have traveled to Seattle they have won by an average margin of 16.7 points.

#13 Posted: 11/30/2011 9:18:45 AM Hawks had 10 penalties last week and leads the league in penalties. Hard to overcome all those penalities each game and having to do it without your best receiver. Hawks need to play a perfect game to beat the Eagles and I don't think they can do it.

All the 'Hawks have to do is avoid a fatal crash on the way to the stadium. The Eagles are fade material for the rest of the season, even against a garbage team like Seattle. I keep waiting for people to open their eyes and see this Philly team for what it is. The fact that they are favored on a short week, on a 3k mile road trip, confirms this. The Eagles have no business being a favorite in any game. The line is a joke. Seahags take this easily. |

#17 Posted: 11/30/2011 1:04:27 PM I agree Leauguecap Your writeup is spot on.
As underachieving as the Eagles have been, and as good as the hawks are at home, with a knack for upsetting the better team , I just have this feeling the eagles come out and play hard this week. I think they just might put out their best effort so far all year on this one.
Sometimes you just have to go with your gut. And in addition all the points you layed out cap. |

#23 Posted: 11/30/2011 3:43:46 PM I don`t know if you are right in your analysis but I don`t have any confidence in the betting on the Seahawks against a team with this much talent . On paper the Eagles should win even under the circumstances . Looking at your record makes me lean more on the Eagles now . Good Luck ! |

Also the seahawks are hosting their first MNF game in 5 years next week while the Eagles are playing for pride and some of them, for a contract. This game means nothing to the seahawks especially with that MNF game on deck. Motivation factor has to go to the eagles in this one
