I'm not exactly sold on the Giants on the road. Looking at their 4 games on the road this year:
@ Washington - Loss @ Philly - Giants came back in the 4th quarter AFTER Vick left the game with a broken hand. @ Arizona - Had to come back in the 4th quarter vs a pretty bad Cardinals team. @ New England - Another 4th quarter comeback that was plagued with NE turnovers and passing interferences on very key drives.
Something to note, those 3 teams the Giants came back on have really bad defenses. If the Giants fall behind again this game, I'm gonna find it really difficult for them to come back against a really solid 49er defense. 49ers is a run first team and everyone knows that and they will be going up against a Giants team that gives up 4.6 YPCarry (22nd) and 127.1 rushing yards a game. The Giants are also transitioning to more of a passing team than a rushing team whether they like it or not. Their rushing game has simply took a shi.. this year. I don't see it changing against the #1 run defense in the league. When a team becomes one dimensional against the 49ers, they can create a lot of problems for the offense (example: 49ers @ Lions). Looking at the rankings for passing defense I think the 49er ranking is a bit misleading. Because their run D is so good, I feel that teams HAVE to throw against them which leads them to being 22nd overall in passing defense. But the 49ers only allow 6.7 yards per catch which is ranked 9th.
I'm really hoping this goes to -3 as I'm seeing a lot of people on the Giants so far. Would feel more comfortable at -3 because the Giants have the offense capable of comebacks/backdoors and the 49ers don't exactly have the offense to blow out teams.
Will post when I confirm the bet and anymore leans if any. Until then .

Giants also won on the road all of 2007 including the playoffs.... Hey, they're not all pretty, but in the end, a win is a win.... What do the Giants have to do to gain any credit? IN 2007, the Giants also started ugly at 0-2 but a big win wk 3 vs Wash which they EASILY could've lost but it was Antonio Pierce who I think saved the season and righted the ship.. They took off from there.... So again, its a tough league... most teams its an up&down yr... There WILL be bumps along the way, but all that matters in the end is bringing home the W... Whether its done pretty or not

True, but that team seems different offensively and defensively from this years team.

Personel was different, yes... different team, yes, but that still doesn't and shouldn't take away from what they just did... Bottom line is you find a way to win... Doesnt matter how its done, as long as you do it... This league is also about catching fire at the right time...

If Giants are just catching fire then Frank Gores the human torch, heh. If the team is different, throwing in 2007 stats isn't much of a use in capping the current year.
I just think the Giants are a little overrated coming into this week off a win in NE.
