NFL Week 3 Picks

Philadelphia Eagles -8.5 $220/$200

So far the Giants are the worst team in the NFC East. Eli is not having a good start to this season, on pace for a 24 int season, the NYG O-Line is not performing either as their run game has not been up to par. 75 yds vs wash and 119 vs stl in which NY had to run the ball the entire 4th quarter to pass the century mark.

At times vs STL they seemed to abandon the run, but you could tell Coughlin always went back to it. Problem is on the 3rd/4th and short where jacobs couldn't pick up the first. This is a bad sign for the Giants.

The Eagles have been just a step behind so far. Solid road win vs STL and they had the opportunity to smash the Falcons early and didn't take advantage. Then Vick comes out with a concussion and that was a huge momentum shift.

This is just the situation for the Eagles to solidify themselves as the team to beat in the NFC East, not just to win in a division game, but to put their own mark on it. I expect Philly to shut down the Giants run, which will force Eli to pass and if you know anything about Eli, his numbers are night and day off the playaction vs no playaction.

Philly will make NY one dimensional and in their home opener, I'm taking the Eagles to smash the Giants.

Miami +2.5 $220/$200

Miami went 6-2 on the road last year and this is where I expect them to get their 1st win of the season. Miami played the Pats tough, although they lost by 2 scores and fell short at home to Houston. What's hidden to me is the fact that Miami was 2 for 4 in the red zone and that was the issue as to why they did not beat the Texans.

Browns got smashed at home to the bengals and beat a manning-less colt team. Colt has been under pressure in both games, not  looking sharp at all. Their run game has not been started either.

I see the Dolphins defense stepping up, stopping the run, getting pressure on McCoy and taking the road win.

Miami +2.5 $220/$200

Tennessee Titans -7 $330/$300

As much as ESPN has been hyping up the Texans to take the south, this is a great spot for Tennessee to put a stake in their claim, especially with Houston going to play New Orleans.

You know Baltimore had to stack 8 in the box to stop the run vs Tenn, but it left one one coverage for Britt and Washington. This is the same dilemna Denver will face.

Denver only held opponents  to less than 20 pts twice last year and already have allowed 22 and 23 this season. They got smashed by the Raiders run game and the Bengals passing game. This broncos defense is not stopping anyone right now.

Denver's run game avg 3.9 ypc last season and so far they are down to 3.4 ypc this season. They will rely on the pass once again and I am expecting a couple int's here from the titans D.

Im thinking Zona has played only the panthers at home in a rookie's debut on the road and the redskins in a game they are probably down about last week all the way on the east coast.  Now they gotta go all the way up to one of the loudest stadiums up in Wash St. vs I believe an underrated offense when they play slacking defenses like the cardinals have right now. Marshawn, Forsett, and leon r a solid trio that can break some big ones and Sidney Rice is coming back for this game.. Also read that Z miller is going to be used for more routes this game bc dockett is the only guy you gotta worry about on the dline for zona.  Just feels like that game that Tavaris impresses a few people. I also think Zona is overrated and could see Earl Thomas making some plays.  Curious to hear your thoughts considering you chose all my other plays.

Seattle is bad though, real bad. While I understand the situation to fade zona as a road fav in seattle, it's just not worth the gamble of just 3 points.

Miami/Cleveland u41.5 $220/$200

For the same reasons as stated above on this game, the more I thought about it the more it made sense to take the under here. Browns aren't blowing it up on offense, miami's red zone struggles and just another tidbit I came across....week 3 non-div road dogs who are 0-2 su have gone 5-21 under s 02.

really, I'm praying the eagles cash for me, still a shot, but this team is just not all there yet. They don't have the rythym. 2 red zone opportunities and 2 fg's.

There has definitely been opportunities for philly to be covering this game.
