Reed said, "my brother, he loved football. but he want to beat pittsburgh" as he broke down in tears. i am born and raised here in Pittsburgh and this event now scares the sh** out of me. This coming from a veteran and team leader that missed half the season and contemplated retirement, and most likely will retire after this season.
Also, that loss to the steelers in baltimore was considered by some of the raven players as their hardest loss of their career besides the 2008 afc championship.
Vegas is going to give me 3 1/2 points too? I'm dumping hometown pride here and cashing this.

Like where your head is at.. I feel for reed man, shit is fucked up. Problem is Troy Polamulu plays like his wife and kids were murdered in front of him every week and dude never had somethign like that happen to him. I had ravens last time these teams met and still have visions of Troy jumping on Flacco..
But I love the points and the fact that a homer does to speaks volumes to me.

Baltimore Ravens free safety Ed Reed is in Louisiana with his family, dealing with the disappearance of his younger brother.
Coach John Harbaugh said Monday that there is no
timetable for Reed's return as the team prepares for an AFC divisional
playoff game at 4:30 p.m. Saturday against the Steelers at Heinz Field.
"We've left that up to Ed," Harbaugh said. "I know that Ed knows
this team inside and out. We haven't talked to him yet today. So I
think it's going to kind of depend on the circumstances down there,
what he feels he needs to do with his family. But we'll give him a lot
of leeway."

So true..but yeah when I saw that live after the Chiefs game..I thought to myself...Baltimore is playing for much more than a SB now..they are playing for a teammate/leader/brother...that type of emotion is tough to go against.

Ed Reed will play...he doesn't need practice - just ask A.Iverson

I am the only one who doesn't think this is a big deal?
I mean I'm sure his teammates feel bad for Ed losing his brother but let's be real, the man jumped into a river fleeing police in a stolen car. I mean come on, it's not like he died a tragic death like one of the Arizona shooting victims or something.
I just don't see this as a huge motivating thing for the rest of the team crying over a career criminal fleeing police.

In the end, its the man's brother. Sympathy for running from cops? Maybe no. But it is blood and a tragic loss.

let me make this clear. the reed factor is not the only reason the ravens win this game. this is revenge from december 5th this year and revenge for the 2008 afc championship.
these teams are so damn close in every department that its scary. the ravens will practice hard all week and play inspired football saturday. any edge the steelers have here i would love to hear.

I watched the video..I'm sure all his brothers talked about beating Pittsburgh. When your a division rival, and they are at the top, that's what you talk about..Every year. So when he says his brother wanted them to beat Pittsburgh, it wasn't like he called Ed from the bridge and said it. It is what you say in the locker room to get you ready for the next opponent. And I mean no disrespect to him or his family, they have my sympathy. But that speech had everyone pumped for 5 minutes then they went home. Both teams always get ready to play this football game, adding to it is a playoff game, and there is no other incentive that is going to make one team play harder than the other. The better team will win this game, and I believe it will be the Steelers

You sir are not a true steeler fan. You never bet against your squad and you never doubt them, in any circumstance.
How is Rice better than mendy? Mendy had more yards and twice the Td's. They are also ranked way higher defensively. If anything this thing about his brother will hurt the ravens because he isn't preparing for the game and he might not even play. Steelers have had rest and are healthy.

QB's? You forgot to add in superbowl rings dumbass. 2-0 Rb's, not sure where your evidence is that rice is better, maybe its because he rushed for less yards and had half the TD's behind a way better o-line. Defense: you cant look at 2 games when deciding a teams defense. Steelers are first in rush yards, points against, 2 in total yards and 12th in pass. They beat the ravens in all 4 categories.
