Why has the Line just sat at -2.5??

This is just very odd, and everyone seems to be leaning the Cowboys. I racked up with the faves today and will be backing the Vikings most likely tomm

The line hasn't changed because there is no real way to determine the favorite in this game.  Minny gets the -2.5 cuz they are the home team.

yea but usually its at 3 and its makes it seem like they want money with people buying the hook to get +3..

i think its sitting at 2.5 so people take the home team, especially after the home blowouts yesterday

The following question is for Jwheels and Uconn....

Since one of you think the line is set for people to take the Cowboys, and the other thinks the line is set for people to take the Vikings, I need you guys to answer this...

What do each of you think the line SHOULD be? What should the line be set at where you wouldn't think it was "weird" or "odd" for any reason?

It's just funny how everyone thinks a line is ALWAYS set so people will "jump on the fave" or "pound the dog." The conspiracy theories behind every line gets out of control sometimes, and this is one of those situations. When you have guys pretty much implying they know what the linesmakers WANT you to take, it's pretty funny.

If you are implying that the line being set at 2.5 will make people bet the Cowboys, how would setting the line at 4 make more sense? Then they will get EVEN MORE Cowboys action...

i never said it was weird or odd, i never talked about a conspiracy, i never said im inside the books head, i was just giving my read.

but i will say this with people saying vikings win by 13, then why didnt the books give the vikings more repsect at home with their dome, favre, AP all that shit. books can throw just about any line out and get even money because they manipulate us so well. -5 was a thought but i knew they wouldnt go that high, they just cant its 2 popular names...2.5 is perfect, the hook is in our head.

so whats the play then hot shot?

If you haven't gotten the point by now, I am not trying to say EITHER of you are on the wrong side. I will never EVER, EVER talk shit to someone for being on a certain side of a game.

But with that being said, it is funny how each of you seem to have your own conspiracy theory on why the line is set where it is. When both sides of a game think the line is "weird" it's pretty entertaining.

im just trying to read the line, you dont do that??....with home favs blowing out on saturday, its gona look VERY VERY easy to take a -2.5 home favorite when you got favre and AP. you dont think the books set shit up??? because i gurantee you that they do...not saying dallas is a lock...but az is a small example of a set up.(public all over GB last week, then from my occurences public all over AZ this week= burn burn

I won't argue for a second that certain lines are set to generate action on a certain side. In fact I make 75% of my plays on lines just like the ones you are speaking of. So I agree with the premise of that completely. The only point I was trying to make is that BOTH of you seemed to think the line was weird for your respective side and it's just funny to see both sides of a game thinking the same thing.

Wasn't talking shit towards your pick or logic anyway. That was my only pt. GL tomorrow.
