“We should be the favorites.” But he wasn’t talking about the wild card game this weekend against the Bengals.

No, he was talking about the Super Bowl. As in, he believes the Jets “should be the favorites” to head to Miami and hold up the Lombardi Trophy.

But he wasn’t done. “I think we have the best defense,” he added. “I know we do. I think we have the best rushing attack. I want this football team. If I had my choice to coach any team in this tournament, I would choose this one.”

It's a little much though...its good for the Jets and fans, but cmon...


He doesn't stop talking trash, they are all crowing like they just did the impossible...if he said "I think this team can win the SB if we do what we should, etc..." 
but to chirp about being the best team that should win the SB, has the greatest D, and everyone should be afraid of them - it's stupid. nobody else is talking like this, and nobody got luckier to get in to the playoffs.
at some point you gotta just shut it and play....
think about this team before the two lay down wins - how they do week 15???

Do you know how bad Carson Palmer wants to win this game?? after what happened the last time Bengals were in playoffs??

Yeah, Rex is pumped up and bully. But he got an oustanding defense for the Jets just like his father, Buddy Ryan, had for the 1985 Bears, one of the greatest defensive units all time.

I liked the PTI guy's stance on this one.  They said Ryan will be one of those guys who will you give all these great quotes, for the whole two years he's a head coach.

He took his team to the playoffs in his first year so he will have to have a pretty bad second year for that prediction to come true.

Well, I'd expect him to say something like every other coach would say.  I'd expect him to act like Dan Reeves and say something politic, like:

"We don't pay attention to stuff like 'at.  We just line it up and try to win the game."

But he went way beyond just saying he thought they'd be favored. He said he thought they should be favored throughout the playoffs and that he thought he had the best team going into the playoffs of any coach in the tournament.  And, if you watch the interview, he actually believes it.

I'll be very interested to watch him try to back it up.

Even with a little help, Ryan has to be give credit for getting Jets to postseason in spite of rookie QB.  He can say whatever he wants, I'm sure in the locker room, he is relishing underdog status, he knows his team would be up against it on the road against Chargers and Colts even if they manage to get past Bengals.Since this game figures to be about 10-10 in the fourth quarter, I wonder what type of play decides the game for which team - Jets defensive play, Sanchez int, or special teams play.  I'm sure this one will go down to the final seconds.

Guys the Jets will beat Cincy.  Cincy can't convert, they move the ball well, sparatically throughout the game.   They are not consistent and say what you want the Jets D is good.  Revis will have a field day with Ocho.  The Jets will try to pound the ball and keep the ball out of Palmer's hands.

Rex Ryan is a good coach, but I Sanchez outplayed him by giving the game to the Falcons a few weeks back.  Still pissed about that game.

I think this is a terrible match up for the Bengals, but they're at home laying less than a FG.  would love to get three, which will never happen.

I have been saying this all season....DO NOT UNDER ESTIMATE THE JETS.... I HATE THEM.....BUT... They have BY FAR the best defense and BY FAR the best O-Line, and the BEst Rushing attack...Wouldnt be suprised to see the Jets in the AFC Championship

Rex Ryan is an extremely fat retard.  The Bills beat his team once this year.  Keep blowing smoke you obese piece of shit.  The NFL should have a weight limit for coaching.  Yes, I hate his fat Pappy Buddy and his long haired brother.  The NFL should ban all Ryan's from the NFL.  Family of drunks.

That is the most unintelligent writing I've read in quite awhile. You obviously know zip about leadership. Both Rex & his Dad Buddy have/had players that'll run through fire with gasoline soaked underwear.
