NFL Week 10 - 5-0 ATS Last Week

5-0, and + 6 units. (Two plays I had rated at 1.5 units)

Not really a boast - because the week before I'd gone 0-2, and two weeks prior 0-3.  Tho all the weeks before those two I'd showed a profit each week.

Write Up for the Thursday NFL game (wish NFL would play only on Thanksgivng Thursday)

Bears preseaon high hopes turning to dust. After an early season win against Pittsburgh, they have since beaten only Seattle, Detroit and Cleveland.  And have lost SU 3 of their last 4 games.

San Francisco didn't have any grandiose preseason hopes, and their play so far reflects that. 3-5, and lost last 4.  But only one of their 5 losses was by over a touchdown, so their defense isn't bad.

On rush defense the Niners rank 4th.  Chi is a lot worse, giving up 4.2 yards per carry. (SF only allows 3.4 ypc)  Looks like a big day for Frank Gore.

And, from sites that report the monetary dispostion of the betting, it looks like the money chunks are mostly coming in on Niners. The sharps choice, it may be.

Already with one win (SF - 3) in the basket, with a narrow pointspread win over Chicago -  thanks, Jay!

OAKLAND -1.5  (Kansas City)                           1 Unit

Two really bad teams. And an old saying in handicapping sports has it that you should never expect a bad team to do good things for you.

And that is generally good advice - except when the other team is equally bad. And you can find a small edge.

My edge here is simple: Raiders are at home.  Early this season they beat these same Chiefs in Arrowhead Stadium.  By 3 points. Not much has changed. At home, I expect Raiders to win. And to cover the spot.

McFadden is back running for the Silver and Black. And in what may be a close game, Oakland has one of the best punters to ever play the game, in Lechler. He's closing in on the NFL record for punting.

Little edges add up in contests between two teams that have lost their way.
