Report is within the next couple of days childress will have a conversation with brett favre about becoming the vikings QB......A couple of things to read into this obiviously coach childress believes he needs favre to win and keep his job because why would you even need to chat with favre if you truly believed you could win with what you got......And why would favre not only want his release but also be working out with a personnel trainer that is easy because he not only wants to still play but he wants to shove it up GM thompson ass for everything that happened last year and the fact that thompson tried to keep him away from the vikings and this division...........This is going to be interesting!!!!

It has nothing to do with ticket sales. The Vikings sell out the dome EVERY reg season game. They obviously wanted Favre last year but the Packers were pussies about the situation. Should be interesting

So the Packers were pussies cause they didn't want him going to a rival team? Teams never trade within their conference.

Shit, if he is/was such an asset then don't let him go right? Thompson should've worked it out with Favre IMHO. Teams never trade with teams within their conference? First one that comes to mind is the H. Walker trade that fucked us about 19 years ago. I can give you other examples if you'd like.

It was time for his retirement. He came out and made a public news conference crying and claiming "I don't have anything left to play for, it's too much work!" Thompson even contacted him on different occasions months later asking him to come back and he said no, I'm retired! At that point it was time for Thompson to move in the right direction and focus on Rodgers. In the past Favre was the pre-madona "I can do whatever I want!" and Sherman allowed him to do so! Thompson wasn't gonna allow that anymore and I don't blame him. Every off season, it was a guess whether or not he was come back or not. Even as a DieHard fan, it pissed me off wondering what he was gonna do every year. I've lost all my respect for him and if he does end up a Viking I hope the packers never retire his number!
Go Warriors!!

This should read, "Teams RARELY (not never) trade within their conference." The last time I can recall that of any significance was when the New England Patriots traded Drew Bledsoe to the Buffalo Bills. This was not only within the same conference but same DIVISION. But you are right in that it is rare and I think the Packers were smart to get what they can from anyone from the AFC so it likely does not bite them in the butt.

Coach Clueless probably could even get a bye with a HEALTHY Brett Farve. I stress healthy because if he isn't then look at how the Jets collapsed down the stretch last year.
