For those of you that listen to Sirius radio, I'm sure you have noticed by now how all you hear about is the terrific move the Jets made to get Sanchez. Not that there is any bias to this groupof New York personalities.
 
I hope your right. The second rate Jets and there fans are so starved for a winner they will believe anything. He is being talked about asif he is the best player in the last 10 years.
 
News Flash...... Stafford's contract is 41 million gaurenteed with another 30 million in incentives.
 
News Flash.......Sanchez isn't signed and they way you guys are building him up, he's not signing for 20 million. His agent right now is licking his lips.
 
News Flash......The Jets management is pulling off one of the biggests scams in the NFL. They are marketing this guy so well that they will be able to sell PSL's/tickets at a lightning fast pace.
 
This kid will "be the franchise" before he throws a pass. The question is can he live up to his GOD envision ability. Nothing less is acceptable.

Don't beleive the hype....Sanchez not that good....imo.
 
I kind of hope I'm wrong because I would like to see Rex Ryan do well with the JETS....wait and see I guess.

then you must have not watched one game Sanchez played in this year. To say he reminds you of Matt is like saying the color white is a shade below black. They couldnt be more different in every facet (football skills or as a human being).

Who had better players, Matt or Mark?  To compare the two because of accomplishments at USC is silly, and you know that.

2005  Matt Cassel----------New England

Not exactly a school that turns out top notch QB's. In my mind the jury is still out on Cassel. Let's see what he does in KC, and even though most will say that Carson Palmer is a top notch QB, his record as a starter is 31-33. For those of you who want to rip me on Palmer. how would you like to have a team that is less then .500 over a six year period with a top notch QB. Think about it.
 
 USC has, and always have had great collage QB's. They are not very good in the NFL.

Steve Young, the Niners great QB, who works for ESPN did a story on Sanchez during the draft show.     Young thinks he's going to be a good QB and he's the most NFL ready QB in the draft.    He backed it up with film.  Showed how he looks off Defensive backs, goes thru his progressions, has a good arm,  is a good leader.  Don't know if any of you guys saw that.   It was a good piece.        I was pretty impressed with Sanchez after watching that.     And he does seem like he's going to be a strong leader and he's a smart guy.
 
We'll see.   Rookie QB's usually have a hard time especially when they have huge expectations on their shoulders.   Although last year Matt Ryan and Joe Flacco were decent QB's in their first year.
 
 
But Young probably knows more about QB's than you guys.   No disrespect meant.

anyone who's ripping Sanchez is doing so because he played only one year. I've seen this kid play since he was 16 years old. He's a great QB. He has it all. But does that always translate in the NFL? No. Most high picks suck because they either just dont get it, or something outside of football kills their progress.
 
This kid is a gym rat. He eats, breathes, shits, fucks football. He's not your typical big man on campus type of QB. In fact, he hates that and avoids that at all cost. He's actually a big nerd. He has Peyton Manning type of qualities. if he puts everything together, he'll be an absolute stud. Like I've said, what you say last year is nowhere near what Sanchez is capable. He's a completely different QB. People forget he suffered a DISLOCATED KNEECAP a couple of weeks prior to the Virginia game. I cant wait to see him improvise like Brett Favre did in the NFL. Thats Mark Sanchez's game. He's not a sit in the pocket kind of guy. If the Jets knew what they were doing, they would install plenty of roll out type of plays.

I think you can say this about most big time programs, no?  Pull up Florida's list, Miami's list, FSU's lists, for example, and see how many QB's have been successful since 1996.

To compare Sanchez to the other guys who were drafted out of USC is retarded.

Let me tell you about Sanchez.  I am a USC grad, but not nearly as blind as my USC counterpart is.  Sanchez is oging to be a good NFL QB.  He certainly has the tools, but he will need time.  Unfortunately for the Jets, time is not what they have.  If they start him this year, they will ruin his career.  If the Jets are patient, they will get a good QB, but he will never be another Farve, or Marino, or anyone else of that caliber.

Seems Sanchez is following the Leinhart/Bush school of acting like a B-list celeb before even playing a down in the NFL with his GQ thing.  If things don't go well, that is gonna be shoved in his face hard by the Jets fans for sure.  He's almost being setup for failure anyway with the amount of coverage he's getting.

I agree with you Bigdaddy, the best they should hope for is the guy becomes a good, but not great, QB.

I like what I have read about Mark Sanchez since being drafted.  He's really putting trying to mix well with his new teammates.  Mark has a very bright future and I expect him to be very successful.

First of all its really hard to play for new york.... There is so much spotlight and negative energy when you play sports for that city. The pressure maybe too much even for proven players who were great on other teams. Now Mark having only played one full season at USC and now having to put the NYJ on his shoulders... It maybe too much to handle for this kid... If the Jets were smart they would give the job to the most hungriest mofo on the team who dont get no fucking respect and works his fucking ass off.... If I were playing wr on this team.. I would listen to a guy who grinded his way to play for the team rather than a pretty boy photo shoot USC QB...   PEACE!!!
