You have to remember we were very close to winning this division before any of this and now this is a huge day in chicago....We can defintley think playoffs this year!!!!

"Just an absolute ridiculous and poor trade for the Chicago Bears."
Your words have been marked and stamped.
We'll see how it goes for these respective teams in January 2010, January 2011, January 2012, and January 2013.
A general signing is 4-years but i think Jay Cutler will opt for the ultimate luxury tax with a 6-year inking. Especially with his family ties to the Bears organization. Cutler have all the makings of a franchise QB and these type of tagged players do not get shuffled in the league.
I can name you AT LEAST 8 other teams that were looking into acquiring Cutler.
The Denver Broncos made a huge mistake. Only because they've lost a key player with a very high ceiling but opted to [very possibly] get the best O-line or D-line players out of college on the upcoming April draft day. Mark Herzlich in a Broncos uniform, i'll bet on that.
Your words: ridiculous and poor are a bit snide regarding Angelo's move; considering the fact that the Bears front office have not done [all that] well with their draft picks and signings in this decade, let alone the past 30 years.
This is not a ridiculous and poor move by Angelo. Its the best deal he has made in the off-season in... what? - 8 years?
Besides, no team is EVER just 1-player away from being Super Bowl champs. The Steelers were in the same situation as the Bears before they got Ben Roethlisberger. But he was not the sole answer to why he's gotten 2 rings in such a short span. Everything was in place for the Steelers to grab those rings based on a whole production from the team. You need a good tailback, the "Bus" did just enough - same for Willie Parker. You need some talented wide-outs like Hines Ward and Santonio Holmes. And of course, the best defense in the league helps alot.
The Bears still have holes but hey... they've just filled the biggest one. Ask Packers fans and Bears fans what that means. You'll get the point.
C'ya at the end of each season for the next 4 years and we'll see how 'ridiculous' and 'poor' today's trade was for the Bears.

How quickly you forget Brandon Marshall.
Other than that, you're dead on with the other assessments. Great trade for the Broncos! Nevermind Orton, but 2 first round draft picks and a 3rd? Wow!

Oh. How can anyone forget Brandon Marshall with the "alligator arms"?
But, seriously. Cutler can't be truly happy in Chicago unless he has a bonifide #1 receiver.
Somehow, i trust Angelo knows this.

we will definately see. this is a bad trade. it is only short run help with this team. after you get some losing seasons you will see JAY say i want a trade . i want to be on a winning organization. watch and see. you can say quarterback play was there weakness, but this team has no defense. getting very OLD and very OVERRATED and also cutler has no one to throw it to. dont tell me BERNARD is a BRANDON MARSHALL. dont get me wrong cutler makes this bears team an instant upgrade. REMEMBER in denver was the system for the running game it didnt matter who you plugged back there. but you lose 2 first rounders and a third rounder? WTF , man u know denver jumped on that deal right away. those three will arguably make denver the team of the west in years to come to have 4 first rounders to screw around with. man look out AFC WEST they will be stacked in 2011 and beyond. glad to see the BEARS finally have a quarterback. we will have to see how he does his first year. A LOT OF PRESSURE for cutler though.

Thank you Bob Bitterman. I guess kicking the can down the street in frustration got tiresome and you decided to post on the Internet.
I'll take the over. It took Brett Favre's ego about ten years to overwhelm him before he stabbed Packers' fans in the back.
