This is a huge game for both teams. Both teams have been playing outstanding. The fear factor edges goes to the Steelers for the simple fact they have the toughest schedule in the NFL in terms of strength of schedule and having the #1 rated defense vs. the PASS (166ypg), RUN (71ypg). The Steelers get it done....BUT....they are not SUPERMAN. Their record is 9-3 meaning they lost 3 games TY to the Eagles, Giants, and Colts. All good teams of course but so are the Cowgirls with Romo at the helm.
We all know what kind of # the Cowgirls can put up on offense and what Romo means to the Cowgirls, BUT how are the Cowgirls DEFENSE been playing? In the L5 games, the Cowgirls have only allowed 17pp and have held 3 solid teams to 10 points or less. Dallas emerging defense has given the offense some much needed peace of mind and the entire team looks more confident. Dallas will need a good performance on both sides of the ball if they plan on knocking off the Steelers on the road this weekend.
Also, the edge goes to Dallas since they played their last game on Thanksgiving. They have a few extra days to prepare for this game. Throw in the fact the Steelers spanked PATS last weekend and only giving -3 at home in their backyard? The # is low considering how good the Steelers have been playing. The books are not giving the Steelers any respect at home and the # tells me they are asking for Steelers $$$$ on this one...just my opinion folks.
Not to worry Dallas backers....The Cowboys got some good news and bad news regarding two injured starters heading into Sunday's game against the Steelers.
Linebacker DeMarcus Ware practiced with his hyperextended knee on Wednesday. He had no problems and did pretty much everything in the workout, giving coach Wade Phillips hope that he will play.
Ware was a little more definitive, saying there is no way he won't play.
"Full blast," Ware said when asked if he was ready to go. "I won't even be out there if I'm not full blast, because that's the way I play. I play full speed."
Of course I got to throw out a couple of trends.....
Dallas is 4-1 ATS in their L5 games & Pitt is 1-4 ATS in their L5 at home. The last meeting between these two teams came in 2004 with a 24-20 victory for the Steelers.
My play of the DAY is.................
COWGIRLS +3 (7UNITS) COWGIRLS ML (3UNITS)

SERIES: 27th regular-season meeting. Dallas leads the series 14-12. Pittsburgh won the last meeting 24-20 in 2004. Dallas has won four of the past five games.

The Dallas Cowboys come to Heinz Field at the right time: The Steelers just won a big game last week I etc and etc, if the Steelers show up and play hard ,better watch out.

How is a win at home against Seattle and a win @ San Francisco impressive? Don't forget those snow shoes as snow is predicted and temps in the teens. Also, if the injury report is correct, Marion Barber is still hobbled by a dislocated toe.
Romo's offensive line protection has not been stellar either and now you face the number 1 defense in most categories? Dallas would be better off attending the National Finals Rodeo this weekend than facing the Pittsburgh Steelers team this week. I look for Owens to be given some special attention by this physical secondary.
Hope you win a bundle but I am not seeing it.

Hans - I thought I was just going to open a cold one and watch the game but I decided to look into this game a little further and liked what I saw once I broke both teams down. As a capper, I guess it's a challenge to cap the big games IMHO. I like the Packers in the morning as we have both discussed already and Cowgirls in the late afternoon.

Boys always played Pitt tough and vice versa...just the nature of the beast. So base on all the facts you are throwing out there, answer me this...why is Pitt on favorite -3 at home? if the Boys haven't played any one notable this season and Pitt beating NE as bad as they had last weekend why is the line only -3 in their backyard?
I'll take Dallas offense over Pitt right now base on #s with Romo behind the helm.
Dallas defense been playing well L5 games holding their L5 opponents under 17ppg...they can only beat what is on their schedule and their defense been playing very, very, well. I'll stick to Dallas ML.

i can't resist it. i am with you on this one i believe, the more i look at it. that steeler d is ferocious.they shut portis down pretty good and gave campbell his first int's of the season. the boys did good for me on turkey day, but have to go against them this week. plus if cowboys lose, will help the skins out in the wild card lol

I like the Packers in this spot, I believe the Texans are still celebrating the MNF victory and that's what a young team does in their 1st MNF game. Slaton is their only back for this game, Schaub is coming back as the starter and will be playing with a knee brace...GL to him and the Texans OL...I see a final score of: GB 30, Texans 13.

ADDING.............
GREEN BAY PACKERS -6 (5UNITS)
UNDER 47 (2UNITS)
PACKERS + U47 (1UNIT)

I think we may disagree on the offense defense point. I will almost always take the better D. Let me state I hope you are right and I am wrong. I just hope Romo doesn't get killed in this game.

Well Hans, the logic is to take the team with the better Defense cause as they always say...Defense wins game...BUT I just don't like the spread on this game. The Pitt -3 seem kinda low considering how great their defense is, their strength of schedule, and them beating NE the way they did last week. Also, this is Pitt sandwhich game, they got another matchup next week vs. Baltimore for the division matchup, not saying they will look ahead but it got to play with their mind somewhat. I just don't see how Pitt is only fav, by -3 at home. I just think Pitt going to get alot of sharp action, after all, it's always the books vs. sharps, not squares. They are more concern with the pros than the squares.

Why is the line Blitzburgh -3? The line of -3 is a generic line and one that will not make the betting public suspicious. The Cowboys after all are America's team and with Romo back they will get the faithful to lay down their money at the betting window. I remain suspicious however.
The Romo led Cowboys' record in December games is horrific and as you say there is a history there and if the trees and the birds could speak in Pittsburgh they too would be shouting 'beat the Cowboys'. There is no way that this is a let down spot for the Steelers with the eyes of the football world watching.
I look for the Steeler defense to make the Cowboys one dimensional and shut down the run. Then when Romo is forced to the air, the wheels will come off. I look for the Steelers to be able to run a little on the Cowboys and make a few plays on what I consider to be a suspect Dallas secondary. It is December and the time for the cream to rise to the top. Either way, buena suerte, Lancer
