#5 Posted: 4/15/2011 2:05:16 PM when you are in the top 4 for the last 5 weeks, you might be a good one to coat-tail in a contest. in nascar, they call it drafting. improvising at the end is the all that's left. |

I'm not sure you have your "tie break" rule correct... I'm pretty sure... it's who made the first pick in the contest... but not 100%, but lets just move to the next part of your post... the "copying".
If you are worried about someone "copying" your pick... then make your pick last second... you know, right before game time... NOT 6-12 hours out... why...because you leave the door wide open for just what you're complaining about.
See... this is a contest... and if someone is ahead of you... and smart enough to wait on picks... and hope ,you are dumb enough to post your plays early... so he can KEEP you behind him... then that's your fault and problem... not his.
You have had a great run in this UR... but ruined it with the cry baby thread. Next time... don't cry, instead, make sure others don't do what you seem to be implying they do/did. Keep the ball in your court... not give it to them to do what they want with... just saying.

#11 Posted: 4/17/2011 5:08:08 PM So, as you can clearly see, Trotter, that if Butta were foolish enough to follow your strategy, then on the last day of the contest he would be guaranteed to lose on the second of the two tiebreakers. To be eligible to win, when someone is within four games of two hundred wins and others are also within that range, then, that person would be compelled to not only pick the games on the board with the earliest starting times, but also to pick them with a timestamp before the other leaders. Trotter's strategy, however, is an excellent one to use on every other day of the contest. If someone "copying" your picks is an issue for you, then simply do not give them the opportunity. The last day of the contest is the only day you must reveal your picks first. Good day, gentlemen.

Like I said... was not 100% sure of the tie breaker rules... most tie breaker rules here on covers are as I said... but I guess I should have looked before posting. Thanks for the info.
The real problem I had with this thread was the crying others are "copying" picks. I guess my thinking is... if you are ahead of someone... and they copy your picks... what more could you ask for, they can't pass you.
Anyway... they all had good runs... and I'm here with my thumb up my behind in 1029th place.
Best of luck to all... and get that money!
