Hi. My name's Kenneth Corey, also known as "The Sports Scientist." I handicap the NFL, and only the NFL. I have been handicapping professional football for a number of years, but didn't begin to publicly document my plays and betting record until 2009. After a strong season last year, I'm excited about what 2010 will bring. As the new season is just about to kick off, I'm ready to talk about what I expect to see happen in the NFL this year. But first, let's go over how I did in 2009. • Against-the-spread (ATS) Plays: 67-50-4 (57.265%, +18 units) - 1 and 2 unit plays. • 6-Point Teasers: 2-1 (+2 units) - always weighted at 2 units. • Longshot MoneyLines: 6-5 (+2.275 units)* • 2009 SEASON TOTAL: +22.275 units *(Longshot MoneyLines are bets in which the underdog moneyline bet is generally +200 to +300 or more. Due to the unlikely nature of these bets winning, in 2009 I weighted these at quarter-weight, or .25 units. Note that there were some fairly rare occasions when I designated a moneyline play that had a pointspread close to a pick 'em as a 1 unit play and included it as part of my ATS record. Rarer still was an occasion when I left so strongly about a large underdog winning outright that I recorded their moneyline wager as a 1 unit play, rather than just a quarter unit, and included the play in my regular ATS record. For example, San Diego in Week 9 with a moneyline of +215.)
2009 NFL Wagering Season Highlights
• Successfully predicted the New York Jets' outright win at San Diego in the Divisional Round of AFC Playoffs. Week 19: Jets +9.5 for 1 unit; Jets Moneyline +280 for 1/4 unit.
• Correctly predicted the Detroit Lions' outright win over Washington, ending a Lions 19-game losing streak. Week 3: Lions +6.5 for 1 unit; Lions Moneyline +230 for 1/4 unit. (This was the only outright win I predicted for Detroit in 2009, and one of only 2 Detroit victories in 2009.)
• Correctly predicted the St. Louis Rams' outright win at Detroit, which would prove to be their only regular-season win in the 2009 season. Week 8: Rams +4.5 for 2 units; Rams Moneyline +185 for 1 unit.
• Twice predicted the Cincinnati Bengals would win outright against the Steelers and sweep their division foes; the Bengals played both games from an underdog position. Week 3: Bengals +4 for 1 unit; Bengals Moneyline +175 for 1/4 unit. Week 10: Bengals +7 for 1 unit; Bengals Moneyline +260 for 1/4 unit.
• Correctly predicted the San Diego Chargers would win as 5.5-point underdogs at the New York Giants as a full-unit Moneyline wager. Week 9: Chargers +5.5 for 1 unit; Chargers Moneyline +215 for 1 unit.
At no point in the 2009 NFL season was my record in negative units ("in the red"). Only 7 of 18 documented weeks in 2009 were losing weeks for my NFL wagers. Only 4 of 18 weeks incurred a This is a link to an Excel format file containing a detailed record of my 2009 NFL wagers:

Cool thread. Was already strong on the Falcons ML and -6.5 (I am a Rams fan who watched the Cards last week and boy do they have issues this year; we honestly should have beaten them). so it is nice to see the Sports Doctor agree with me! The prescription this Sunday is pain, my friend.
