rayz!!! now that's a win. i wasnt as disciplined as you, @ semeper, so i jumped on the twins last night, chased em today, go get it. i also mcshadied mcshady's -1 rl on oak  and continued to chase the indians... fine - next time leave it alone! yanks 1st hits for a double up aft missing last night. angle, white sox - great call brother.

Yankees under 8.5. I almost pulled the trigger on Toronto with Happ, but since I cashed with Semper's pick on Toronto GM1 I didn't want to double-dip, which is normally the way to go as Semper says.. Happ came from the Astros, and has improved since but as an Astros fan I could not do it, just glad for the GM1 win as a HUGE DOG!!!  (Thanks again Semper!)

I know, I didn't actually say I was fading the Astros under, but info came in late after I signed off, sorry if anyone lost. Lately, that total has been fade material and McShady has taught me well!!!

I read somewhere and cannot find it now, that conference home dogs in the first 2 weeks hit pretty well in NCAA football. I cannot find the email, so this is a guess based on memory. Please do not put major money on these plays!

The games involved are:

Thurs
S Car at Vandy +6.5 (buy to 7.5)

Saturday
Mia at Boston College +2 (buy to 3 or 3.5)
Troy at UAB +6 (buy to 7 or 7.5)

I hope this makes sense, and anyone who got the email from 1unitwagers can chime in and let me know if I have this correct. For all I know, it could have been the favorite, but I don't think so, I always look for dogs now after following Semper and McShady. Of course, on jump-in MLB chases I am not afraid to take a favorite.

Another gem that I have researched. Fade the Super Bowl champ (Giants) for a 3 game chase. I read that it has never lost. Since they are almost always favored be sure to buy at least a half point over 3, 7, 10, 14,etc, but if you don't want to lose by half point buy 1 point if necessary.

Which team/s avoids the sweep?

I'm not that good at NCAA but I do have chase plays for NFL and NHL. I am going to post some NCAA trends for this week...

The ACC and the Big East are generally regarded to be the two weakest of the major conferences, but as you will see, the non-conference ATS results of the two conferences are quite different over the last five years. The ACC has a losing 126-139-5, 47.6 percent ATS record out of conference since 2006, with favorites going 67-87-2 ATS for a 56.5 percent fade. This goes against the Week 1 favorite pattern and the one qualifying play for Week 1 is Florida International +3½ vs. Duke.

 Big 12 is 125-105-3, 54.4 percent ATS out of conference the last five years, and in keeping with the normal Week 1 theme, Big 12 non-conference favorites have been especially strong going 103-78-3, 56.9 percent ATS. The four qualifying plays this weekend are Oklahoma -31, Texas -29½ and West Virginia -24½ on Saturday and Baylor -10½ on Sunday.

The Big East may be the weakest conference of all among the six major conferences and yet it is 132-96-3, 57.9 percent ATS in non-conference games since 2006, although that is probably due to scheduling weak opponents. The Big East has excelled both as a favorite (79-57-2, 58.1 percent ATS) and as an underdog (50-38-1, 56.8 percent ATS). There are two qualifying favorites this week in Rutgers -20½ on Saturday and Louisville -13½ on Sunday, as well as one qualifying underdog in Syracuse +2 vs. Northwestern on Saturday.
