That match shouldnt have lasted more than 50 minutes. Rafa better get his ankles taped properly for next match or hes gonna be wiped off the court by Robredo with tennis like that...

epic choke by Almagro, great clutch fighting spirit from nadal because you get someone like gonzo verdasco etc down 40-0 triple mach point and they are bound to shank in one of those borefest rallies almagro orchestrated. He wanted to go the marathon route and Nadal ran with him and outgrinded him every step of the way. Horrible idea given who is opponent is and Nadal made sure to prove that in spades.

you can outplay nadal but you can never outwork him.

I had Nadal and let me just say that his comeback in the 2nd set was amazing.  Yeah the match ended bad because Almagro cramped but down 40-0 with the match on the line and the other man serving and coming back...INCREDIBLE NO MATTER WHO YOU'RE PLAYING.  That was a lot of fun after it was over lol.  I was a mess until Nadal won that 2nd set.  Then I kind of knew he was going to win even though Almagro scared me in the 3rd set.  Good match by both but at the end of the day, that's why Nadal is world class!

Man that's brutal....had those 7 units in my grasp and he just friggin choked it away....time after time.

Ya right. Rafa outright owns Tommy.

Todays another example of why this guy is phenominal. His fight, unwillingness to give up is second to none in sport. He's right up there with Tiger Woods.

His record against Almagro/Robredo combined is 10-0. He's 45-5 in his last 50 matches against players from Spain. 72-12 all time vs Spaniards. He's only lost one of his last 20 match's against his countrymen.

His record against guys with one handed backhands is absurd also.
