Would Outlawing Guns Do Any Good

The belief that "more guns less crime" and "more gun control less crime" are both controversial.  Several university studies either oppose or support them.  According to police, cities with more gun crimes deserve tigher laws.  But cities with low crime rates deserve looser laws. 

If guns made a country safe, the US would be the safest on Earth.  Not true because the US annually has thousands of murders from guns.  The old wild west was a violent period with high crime rates.

In recent decades, there have been many rampage killings in the US.  Many in states with loose gun laws.  Not one killer has ever been stopped by an armed victim.  Self defense is not easy, even for professionals such as police or soldier..

A lot of those shootings happened in “gun free zones” where law abiding citizens are not allowed to legally carry firearms.

Strange how that didn’t stop the rampaging lunatics from carrying.  Who would have guessed that criminals don’t obey the law?  

Unfortunately, in a free society, I think it is virtually impossible to keep a crazy person from wreaking chaos and mayhem if they so choose.   

Maybe it has always been the case, but people today seem more violent and screwed up than ever before.
