Agreed,but there is no way that Penn State can/will be competetive in the B1G for a very long time.....
Their nice recruiting efforts have just been deemed insignificant and meaningless. Bill O'Brien picked a disasterous time to make the jump to HC. He has a win based bonus laden contract and no way to get out of State College for the next 5 years.

Gents, it has been a pleasure chatting with you over the last year or so, a lot of great people on here but I am done with college sports. Will not watch a game or support anything related to the NCAA again. What Emmert did today was beyond comprehension to me.
Does he think that a victim of this type of crime will ever come forward again knowing that if he does his entire community is going to be punnished when he does so? Will this punnishment scare univeristy administrators? It should (for any number of reasons), but I believe that it will also scare vicitms of similar crimes from coming forward in the future. Maybe I am wrong, but from dealing with many abuse survivors through my job, this would be their worst nightmare for many of them.
The NCAA had an opportunity here to really try and make a difference - hell turn PSU football into a non-pofit - put the bulk of the money from the football program into develping programs to support abuse victims, to educating the public that it is not only ok, but imperative that adults not look the other way, take the stigma away from asking the tough questions when something doesn't seem right, create a program that will develop counsellors for abuse victims and fund it through football. Do something that actually helps victims and helps prevent child abuse. Instead Emmert made a political power play for his own benefit in the name of these victims.
This could have been something that punnished the university and the football program as both would suffer without the funding, but that could actually do some good for victims of abuse and would not punish thousands of innocents in central PA or the student athletes at PSU.
While I think that the NCAA is misguided in punishing the football program, that pales in comparison to what I think they have done to the vicitms in this case and imo probably future cases that we will never hear about.
Cement your power Emmert, just don't look down at the people your stood on to get there, you might not like what you see.
Good luck to all of the PSU athletes, students and alumni that may read this, you deserve so much better than the leadership (or more specifically the lack thereof) that you have at PSU.

If any team that will join the Big 10 its Notre Dame, they were about to many yrs back but back out, then rumors has it that they wanted to join again, but Paterno said they already said no once, why allow them to join again. That's how much Paterno has on football program... whatever he said goes.....

The District Attorney that was about to press charges against Sandusky on molestation charges that was magically disappeared back in 2001 or earlier or so.... Rumors has it that Penn State paid him some good amount of $ for him to disappear.
