Wrecked my car and GEICO screwed me...

Now have to pay 4k to fix it out of my pocket.... not going into details...

just advising... if you have GEICO...check your policy very closely and make sure you know what EVERYTHING means...

and if you don't have GEICO ... good for you.

Never switch to them...

I made a  very, VERY costly mistake.

Fucking A'...been beating myself up for the last 2 days...even more than after I bet the Colts in the SB a few years back.

2 very costly mistakes than I really should have known better and not made...

Anyway... back to my pity party of 1

More or less... basically, I did the online quote and called after to talk about a few things... I of course wanted Collision and the fucked up Sales Agent listed Uninsured Motorist and property... i found out today when i added Collision that there is a waiver (CA thing i guess) for both things 'if" i had Collision...which is $21 less than what i was paying.

Everything was done paperless and i signed up for auto pay so i never really checked anything or logged onto my account until yesterday. I figured i was good to go...

My fault for trusting someone to do their job right...

I will br dropping them and going back to my old insurance when i get my car out of the shop for sure...

I have Farmer's and they are not the cheapest, but they rock when it comes to claims.  

I rented a car last year to drive to Purdue for a Gopher/Boilermaker football game.  Got hit when it was in the parking lot.  Drove it back and reported the claim over the phone (took 5 minutes) and gave them the rental car information.  That was it.  Everything was covered and that is as much as I had to get involved.  

I'll gladly pay a few extra bucks for completely painless claims processing!  And it's been like that for the 3 or claims I've had over the 10 years.

i buy all my cars between 7-12 years old, and ONLY purchase liability.  i just make sure my mechanic checks it out before i buy it, and have never had a problem until at least 3 years have passed.  i figure the amount i've spent on purchases and repairs is about $120/mo.

Tough break bro.  This is the world we live in today.  You can't trust anybody to do their jobs.  We as consumers have to double check everything. 

One person doing the work of three people and this is the all too common result.  Unfortunately, this type of mistake doesn't show up in the bottom line numbers and the corporate fucks cash their management bonuses and laugh all the way to the bank completely blame free.

Some poor bastard will go Postal on a GEICO office and everybody will scratch their heads and wonder why.

Aren't these phone conversations recorded?

How long ago did you buy this?

If you stated you wanted collision and you didnt get it, you might have a case

Of course that is only if conversation recorded and still available

Yes sir... i'll never make this or any other mistake when it comes to insurance and investments... i was in a hurry and lazy when i switched and it bit me in the ass.... live and learn

that person just might be me...stay tuned to your local Channel 11 news....  man, i checked geico out further and they have a ton of class action suits out... maybe i can jump in one day...i'm sure if they pulled a sly on me, they also have to many others... hoping the person doesn't catch something and when/if they do..."Sorry Sir...but we..."

you know what...when i talked to a supervisor i asked the same question about how/if they record conversations and how they use their CRM database...A company like DirectTV logs everything into their CRM so each csr can help you better / see if you're a bitch

...geico said "we only record select calls for QC and the only notes are when something coverage related is added, changed etc."... i asked about my intitial call and she said "yes, you added this, this and this"...and when i brought up a few facts she just went into robot mode...
