JETS would be better with Pennington than Favre

Favre leads the league in interceptions with JT O'Sullivan.    He makes 12 million a year  and the JETS owe the Packers at least a 4th round draft pick for his services.    Pennington makes 4 or 5 million.
 
 
 
 
As a Packer fan who watched that clown Favre play yesterday I can't tell you how ecstatic I am that Aaron Rodgers is now our quarterback.         
 
 
 
 
Favre did win one Super Bowl 12 years ago though.

guess you didnt watch the wk 1 game or chad's pathetic wk 6 vs bal

i have seen favre throw td passes this year that chad could only make on a video game

its funny you had to wait til wk 8 to post this stupid thread.. what was it like 2 weeks ago when favre led the league in qb rating??

lets see how ecstatic you are after your china doll rodgers gets injured and your watchin one of those rooks blow games.. great front office management not signing a decent backup to go into the season

Judge Favre how you like but he shows MUCH MORE leadership that Pennington ever will. That means the rest of the TEAM plays better in the long run!!!!

Pennington doesn't retire every offseason for 4 months and expect his team to take him back,    
 
Pennington doesn't give other teams the Packer playbook,  
 
Pennington doesn't try to be the General Manager of the team and tell the front office what players it should acquire,
 
Pennington doesn't go on National television and badmouth the GM and organization that made him rich and famous beyond his wildest dreams,

Don't blamed on Farve thoo...He still need some big adjustment with offensive lines and WRs...But I think JETS will go on to playoff this year.

Miami and Green Bay both may be missed this postseason!

Turnovers are a killer in the NFL and Favre is a turnover machine.  

 

 

I forgot to mention that Pennington has fumbled one time and recovered it.

Favre has fumbled 6 times and lost 2 of them.

Pennington may not have all the physical tools of Favre but he was definitely regarded by Jets players as an excellent leader both on and off the field.

Greyhound - this topic has merit and had potential for some good discussion. It's too bad you chose a sour grapes tone with it.

It's my understanding that they've played a different schedule under different conditions up until this point.  It's also my understanding that the offenses are different and both QBs play behind different offensive lines with different WRs to catch the balls and have different RBs to pose different types of challenges to opposing defenses.

I guess that means it's all Favre's fault and Pennington is the man.

There was nobody on earth more happy    when Favre was traded.     I never liked the guy as a person or as a player.   
 
Gotta be the most overrated postseason QB in history.      So if the Jets somehow miraculously make the playoffs with this bum at quarterback,  all you JETS fans have "one and done" to look forward to.

Favre retired once and came back.  Not every year.  The media asked him if he was going to retire and he always said "I don't know."  That was the media speculating that he was going to retire.  He never approached anyone and offered up that he may retire.

Try training for and then running an Ironman Triathlon.  Once you're done with the race ask yourself the question if you want to begin training for the next one right away.  I'm sure you'll want to take a break and relax for a moment to catch your breath before deciding to do it again.  Even if it's in your blood.

Don't try to vilify Favre.  The media has done enough of that lately.  He's just a great guy that doesn't ask for the limelight... it just always seems to find him.  He's a private guy that happens to be in a very public role.

Obviously, the "person" whom started this thread was looking for a reaction. That is what he does. But.....
 
After watching Farve this year, it is clear that he is a shadow of his former self, except for his ability to throw interceptions. And the media treats him more favorably than any player in history. The ESPN news story is Farve rallies Jets, with little mention of his awful INTs that led to him needing to rally the Jets.
 
So, to quote American Pie, "I don't like him, but he makes a valid point."
