So California is going to start charging sales tax on all amazon.com purchases. Why not set up shop in Oregon or a nearby state and have the buyers in Cali send you money and you ship the item to their address in Cali. You take a half percent fee or 1 percent fee and they still end up saving.

Would amazon catch on to this eventually and stop this from happening.

It's inevitable, the fact that people don't have to pay sales tax online if there is no entity in your state is ridiculous. Hey I'm a rational guy, so I love not having to pay sales tax on most stuff, but the government is missing out on billions in taxes.

Some people these days are so cheap that they will buy on amazon even if it's the same price locally because they don't have to pay sales tax.

On a $999.99 TV, that $50 makes a difference.

In the next coming years, every state will probably start charging tax online. It's the future.
