College basketball talent is just getting worse and worse. Radios have been talking about how teams back in the day were so good and trying to compare Kentucky to them. So is Kentucky that good or is everyone else just that bad?

They are a pretty solid team but I'm still waiting to see a game where the refereeing isn't ridiculously lopsided in their favor. If the refs let them play, I think Ville can take em.

They really haven't faced any teams that play defense yet in the tournament either.....Indiana didn't play any and Baylor is pretty soft as well.

Both games in New Orleans they should see some defensive pressure that they haven't seen in awhile.

This team did lose to Vandy two weeks ago......

Let's be honest about that Vandy game. When your coach before the SEC tournament downplays openly says he doesn't like it and pretty much says he doesn't care about it, your team follows suit. On the other side.....you had Vandy players and even the coach crying afterward. I think the teams had different goals in mind. Plus, Vandy is actually pretty good. We'll see how these games go, but keep in mind they have already played 2 of them and beaten them both.

The refs haven't swayed any games in this tournament for Kentucky. Kentucky plays as a team which is suprising giving the level of talent they have. The unselfishness is pretty shocking. Refs have an a major outcome in many tournament games and have completely lost an understanding of the charge rule at the college level but claiming that Kentucky is getting this far in the tournament because of refs in nonsense.

To answer the question, I would say it's a combo. The 1 and done era in college bball has created other teams like this from a talent persepctive but they didn't play together as a team. The fact that they play as a team makes it nearly impossible to beat them unless you play a perfect game. The other teams that have historically relied on more disaplined plays who won't be able to play on the next level don't have that advantage as they have in yrs past so it creates a huge gap IMO.

I think the refs have called the games too tight honestly and I am a UK fan. I don't however think you can really say UK is getting way more calls and just point to how many free throws each team took. They have been a head in every game and 2 of them the teams were intentionally fouling, which inflated the totals big time. The other part is UK is pretty much more aggressive, bigger, stronger and  more athletic and they take the ball to the hoop more then most teams. So, naturally they are getting fouled more. I think they deserve more credit then they are getting because they are killing teams. That being said...the refs certainly could let smoe stuff go. It's ridiculous some of the stuff they are calling and it makes games harder to watch.
