#1 Posted: 2/1/2012 1:56:54 PM I must say I am pretty excited. Not a bad consolation prize. I'm thinking its at 154.
What will the line be?

#2 Posted: 2/1/2012 7:39:37 PM Would have been alot better at 147 a couple of years ago, now ?, Cotto looked good in his last fight, but it was against a cheater who couldn't cheat, let him punch him and only had one eye early in the fight. Floyd will just try to stick and move. The only way Cotto has a chance would be with a great training camp and if Floyd over-looked him and underestamated. Other than that Floyd should cruise to a win. |

Mayweather should win but Cotto should give Mayweather the toughest fight he's had in a while.

#5 Posted: 2/2/2012 2:19:48 PM Mayweather vs. Cotto? Really? And at 154? Come on people. Wake the darn up. If you buy this fight you're an absolute moron. There is a fighter at 154 that is relishing the opportunity to fight Floyd, and I believe is even willing to do it at a catch of 150.. he's obviously being ducked so the idiots that be can line the already deep pockets of MoneyMay with more moolah.. Sergio Martinez. Seriously people. You all should be offended by this. I know I am, and WILL NOT be viewing/buying this fight. I might even skip the free replay, unless Cotto happens to knock Mayweather the darn, THAT my friends I would make time to see. |

#6 Posted: 2/2/2012 2:24:58 PM Mayweather is just loving the thought of all that Puerto Rican money rolling in.. F that, and F him.. If he won't fight Pacquiao he should fight Martinez. I seriously hope this fight bombs and does less than 500,000 PPV buys. Then and only then will MoneyMay see the light, that no one is buying his crap anymore. Same goes for Manny too. |

#9 Posted: 2/2/2012 3:14:23 PM I'm going to tell you what is going to happen. If everything goes the way it should, and people don't buy this fight, cause promoters get updates on PPV purchases throughout the promotional phase of the fight, once they see the fight is initially not a big sell, you will see, and I guarentee this, Mayweather do something really stupid to spark interest in this fight, like insult Cotto's heritage, or stage a public shouting or shoving match. You might even see Cotto, who by my estimations is a very classy guy, do something totally out of character in order to play along with the promotion. All for the sake of increasing sales. The tagline will be that Mayweather is trying to get under Cotto's skin cause he's somehow afraid of the guy, but it'll all be just a ploy. Now, If sales are initially good, and people must remain moronic, then you may not see it. But don't be shocked when this happens. And please don't be blind any longer. |

#10 Posted: 2/2/2012 3:22:47 PM I have another thought, and this one is far-fetched, but somehow I think this fight is somehow a ploy to get Manny in the ring. Contracts are not yet signed with Cotto and Mayweather, so while it's "official" it's not really official. Could Manny's people call in the eleventh hour and agree to the Mayweather deal, and get the fight? If Cotto is apparently getting $30,000,000, why wouldn't Manny jump at the chance at getting at least twice as much in a 60/40 split? |

#11 Posted: 2/2/2012 7:08:34 PM In response to the topic.....Floyd to Win. Looks like its -600 right now, but even if it stays there, I'll pound the garbage out of it. I dont even have the guts to peel off much of that juice and go Floyd by decision, because I firmly believe rounds 8-12 of this fight will look just like 8-12 in Floyd vs. Gatti, the last aging puncher Floyd humiliated. No disrespect to Cotto, I've made alot of money on that dude (From Cotto over Victoriano Sosa - all the way to Cotto vs. Margarito I) Do the math, thats alot of payouts on Cotto to Win, before the loss....
Simply put. This is a style nightmare for Cotto. Lay the juice, take the 16.5% R.O.I, and get your bankrolls working FOR YOU in 2012. Good Luck All !! |
