#6 Posted: 4/16/2012 11:35:46 AM The University of Alabama set the original spring game attendance record for college football when 92,310 fans packed into Bryant-Denny Stadium for Nick Saban's coaching debut back in 2007.
Ohio State would break that record just two short years later on April 25, 2009, as 95,722 Buckeye fans filled the Horseshoe on a beautiful 80-degree day in Columbus. That attendance mark could reach six digits if the weather permits for Meyer’s unveiling.

#10 Posted: 4/16/2012 2:44:03 PM SEC QBs are not that great at making the transition to the NFL, though they're some that defy the odds. |

#13 Posted: 4/17/2012 4:35:10 AM That's called boredom.
I played football for 17 years. I think it's the greatest sport in the world. However I can think of 5-6 better ways to spend a Saturday than watching a intra-squad scrimmage. |

New England sports teams have had a very nice run, but that is all history and it's time for their teams to go back to the tail end of the standings where they belong.
See you next year Bruins, you couldn't even make it out of the first round.
The Red Sox are in last place and have the worst (or 30th best )pitching staff in MLB.
The Celtics are among the oldest teams in the NBA and are fading fast.
The Patriots window is also closing as it been 7+ years since they have won a Super Bowl.
Then there is Boston College who routinely finishes at the bottom of the ACC in both football and basketball.
Then you have the SEC who currently has the reigning National Champions in basketball in the Kentucky Wildcats.
In baseball the South Carolina Gamecocks have won the last two National Championships.
And of course the SEC owns football as between the Alabama Crimson Tide, LSU Tigers, Florida Gators, and Auburn Tigers, they have the won the last 6 titles in a row.
Armpit of America ?
You're just another bitter envious northerner.
Good day sir ! |

#21 Posted: 4/26/2012 1:30:42 AM Now we have the Celtics in the playoffs... When they get bounced then there's the red sox.... Then the patriots.
Can't win em all ... It's entertaining though....
Real cities like NY, LA and Chi know ...
Good day sir like you got me.... (rolling eyes special emoticon) |

#22 Posted: 4/26/2012 2:29:43 AM I don't think I appreciated growing up in Michigan enough. Four pro sports teams, 3 of which have either made the finals of or won their respective titles in the last decade. Two big ten schools which are generally respectable as far as basketball and football go. And three MAC schools that make occasional runs in football/basketball. Plus quality division 2 football programs around the state.
While I agree that Carolina winning the baseball title back to back is impressive. I would counter that with all the Frozen Fours that B.C. has made and won recently.
Hockey and baseball at the college level are pretty much regional sports. |

Just goes to show you how much hate they have for the SEC.
Mattbrot - Please tell me why the SEC is over rated?
Ktrain - I have no idea if they charge for admission or parking. Nor do I give a darn.
Finally bigbill - You are right about the seating at Mich, but WTF does that have anything to do with the SEC spring games I mentioned?
Looking forward to Sep 1 - Alabama @ Mich, don't be butt hurt when Bama whup that behind in front of 100,000 plus.
