IT DOES NOT MATTER IF YOU DO NOT TOUCH THE PUNT RETURNER, YOU HAVE HAVE TO GIVE HIM AT LEAST 1 YD ROOM TO MAKE THE CATCH,

THE ND FOOTBALL PLAYER WAS BLOCKED AWAY FROM THE RETURNER OTHERWISE HE WOULD HAVE RUN HIM OVER

They should have called it on the 2nd guy in on interfering with the chance for te returner to catch the football.  Even if he bobbles it he has the right to catch it..you are right that the call was correct

Thats your opinion and strictly that...one could argue there was 1yd of room to catch the ball...in which case it was the incorrect call.

It's one of those rules that isn't clear cut, as it's strictly the opinion of whichever linesman is down near the play.

head of officials is in the booth with Brent and Kirk,

even he said it was the correct call and Brent quickly shut up.

there was clearly less than 1 full yard on the replay,

If youre close enough to touch the player on a fair catch things like that happen. Correct call.

we disagree quit a bit but you are correct- Bama guy ran into him but the ND player was right there- correct call

I am surprised the ND quarterback is very accurate so far. If he can continue that then maybe they have a chance. But I am on Bama big.

i hate that it hurts my bet but i only bet what i can afford to lose so i do not care about my bet, i only care that the game is called properly.

Really...the head of officials chimes in and that makes the ruling correct?  Or he didn't want to throw his crew under the bus.  And all I was pointing out was that your opinion is just that...someone could disagree with you.  It doesn't make them wrong or stupid.  It's people like you that make this forum unbearable.

he could have said:  "very close call, very tough call, but i think it was the correct call"

instread,

he says "it was the correct call"
