Also includes a proprietary score prediction model to determine value against the spread. *Note: Significant injuries as of 10:30 EST were factored into the score predictions.

#6 Posted: 4/11/2012 12:12:52 PM Also, just a suggestion but maybe you could somehow incorporate your H/A Power Rankings into these too. Just so there would be recent statistical trends/information in addition to season-long info.
Thanks again!

Thanks again!
I derive those rankings using home/away splits from TeamRankings and as of right now I haven't been able to write code to download those stats into my spreadsheet automatically. Hoopdata and 82games have a much easier format that I can link to and neither of these sites offer the home/away splits I need. So in order to update those rankings I have to manually enter data for 30 teams in 12 different metrics. It's time consuming, and I don't have a lot of free time right now. |

#8 Posted: 4/11/2012 12:36:57 PM I have free time right now and would volunteer my time to update the home/away team rankings...the system I was using with those was hitting at a rate of 69% since the All Star break...
Let me know, I will update them and post them every Monday...

+1 I would definitely be willing to volunteer my time to help updating the Home/Away Rankings. I can probably enter the data in on a Google Doc without having to even know your formula.

Great idea. Here is condensed spreadsheet for the four factors to find the differential between offensive and defensive rates. I've included at the bottom of the spreadsheet the links to TeamRankings where you can collect the data. It's as simple as copy and paste into the spreadsheet. Anyone with these links can edit them so if you chose to edit them please only include accurate information from the links provided. When it's all up to date, I'll plug the numbers into my formula and I'll be able to update the home/away power rankings at least one more time before the end of the season.
