Lots of butter, some melted cheese and you definitely can't forget the bacon bits! Chives are a nice touch too. Maybe just a shake of Tony Chachere's spice?

Pass on the sour cream though

 The KEY to a great Baked Potato is to nuke it 2min. on each side then wrap it in foil and bake at 400f for 1hr.

  Wrapping a baked potato?

The goal is to dry out the inside so it's flaky.  Poke holes and bake it on a bed of rock salt or rub it with coarse salt.

Poke 5-10 holes in one.  Put in bowl and rub with canola oil. Sprinkle with kosher salt and bake DIRECTLY on the oven rack at 350 for 1 to 1.25 hours (depending on size of potato).  Put a pan underneath to collect any drippings.  

Crispiest skin ever.

Nice dish!!! try this
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.

Cut the potatoes in half or quarters and place in a bowl with the olive oil, salt, pepper, and garlic; toss until the potatoes are well coated. Transfer the potatoes to a sheet pan and spread out into 1 layer. Roast in the oven for 45 minutes to 1 hour or until browned and crisp. Flip twice with a spatula during cooking in order to ensure even browning.

Remove the potatoes from the oven, toss with parsley, season to taste, and serve hot.

I'm a potato freak and will order just about any main/entree if I see it comes with a side of potato ( in particular mashed potatoes ).

When it comes to baked potatoes I will generally cut them open after cooking and jam in a hand full of shredded cheese in the middle and close them up again. Then I will top them with a chicken, onion, mushroom and tomato based sauce that I whip up while the potatoes are baking away in the oven.

My girlfriend loves my baked potatoes topped with the chicken concoction.

WRONG!!!!!

The key to a great baked potato is if it's on the side of a Porterhouse, or, Filet Mignon, or a N.Y. Strip, or Kobe, cooked medium rare - or a Prime Rib with some horseradish cream, or a 28 day aged rib-eye - and it's smothered in melted butter & chives, with sour cream on the side to taste........ I'll even give props to the OP - replace the baked potato with some perfectly fried Jumbo Shrimp with some cocktail sauce made of ketchup, horseradish, and Tabasco....... Yeah, your mouth's watering, don't deny it.......
