alright guys, quick question... I am around 250 right now, and am 6-1... I am not what you would call "fat" as I was an avid weightlifter up until about 2 months ago and just kind of drifted away from it.  My question is: I am looking to get down to like 205, what is a realistic amount of time to hit that number if I run around 1.5 miles 5 days a week?  Thanks for you help...

loaded question man.

age, eating habits, alcohol consumption, and so many other variables are all factors here.

This dude is just friggin around but Fried will go ahead and give an opinion..............

Thinking one pound per week is best case for proper health.

Possibly a little more, but don't want to break up muscle fibers

Imagine a pound of butter............ per week.

That's a good enough goal.

1400 calories a day would put me in a coma.

Would say 500 less than current.  And if you are a serious weight trainer, you already know this.......... and just friggin around.

Wow.  You must be very active. I'm a pretty normal 5'10 175 or so and I need to eat 2k or under to have a chance to lose weight.  I shoot for 1,800-2,000 when I'm trying to lose a few.  When I don't give a darn I'm probably eating more like 2,400-2,800.  If I ate 3,700 I'd be over 200 easy, I would assume.

quality of calories is much more important than quantity of calories
