#4 Posted: 5/23/2010 2:02:42 AM What the darn does "star value" have to do with anything when it comes to one's favorite band? How about hand model potential, instead? Or, the ability to draw a perfect circle as credentials for being a favorite band. Look at jmw59's favorite band, The Cure. Do you think Robert Smith and the boys have pure star value? I bet these guys wouldn't make it past round one of an American Idol type show, just because of their so-called star value; they don't have any, at least not the kind you're talking about. Great, great band, but do you think they're his favorite band because of their friggin "star value?" |

Nowhere does Mikael ask "What is your favourite band?" or "What is your favourite band based on the following criteria?" He's essentially asking what you think is the most influential band ever, based on the criteria he's laid out.
Either way, it's a rather redundant question (no offense Mikael) in that only one band is the correct answer (The Beatles) and only one other even merits consideration (Led Zeppelin).

#13 Posted: 5/24/2010 11:51:37 AM It's still a subjective question.............although I would agree with "The Beatles".
As far as others in consideration, Zeppelin & Pink Floyd have probably created the most other timeless rock..... |

Dunno if that's star value, but he is is own person. |

You are only dissecting 1/3 of the question. He also asked in terms of creativity and longevity.
Agree with Mugg, it's a subjective question so personal taste is in the mix as well.
For me, Beatles, Stones, and Zep would all be candidates for the title of best band ever. |
