Wish I had more time to do full write-ups, these two deserve it. More to the point, short of a Gegard KO or a newfound love for offensive wrestling I don't see Mousasi winning this fight. Gustafsson has all the tools to be a top contender in the division. If this was a straight kick boxing match I'd give the edge to Gegard but Gustafson's take-downs and top control game will keep Mousasi honest and unable to connect with the power he would like.

I love Ross Pearson, I really do. He has great footwork and head movment, above average power and decent defensive wrestling and submission defense. That being said he should not be a -450 favorite over anyone in the UFC, even new-comer Ryan Couture. Pearson is too predictable and one dimensional, however he is a perfect gate-keeper for the lightweight division.
Couture, like his father before him is a wrestler first and foremost, Ryan thrives in dirty fights along the fence and on the mat. Where Ryan differs from his father is his submission offense, Randy studied BJJ in his glory days but mainly to fend off the subissions of the fighters he would be attempting to smother. Although Ryan only has two professional wins by way of submission he finished all 5 of his amateur fights via some form of tap.
Ryan will be two inches taller at 5'10 and have a full 7 inches of reach on Pearson.
Prediction - Couture gets by Ross Pearson with a stiff jab, straight punches and the patented Couture Clinch, Fence, Take-down. Ryan via split decision.

Brad Pickett
vs.
Mike Easton Main Card | Bantamweight | 135 lbs (61.2 kg) I'd give the edge everywhere to Pickett, I'm trying to think where Easton might have the advantage....power maybe? Tough fight for Easton here.
Prediction - Pickett via UD.

Brandao should take this, the height and reach advantage for Garza makes this interesting. Brandao out wrestled Joey Gambino in his last fight for the win, I think Greg Jackson will have a similar game plan to take out the much taller and lankier Garza.

Michael Johnson
vs.
Reza Madadi Preliminary Card | Lightweight | 155 lbs (70.3 kg) Tough
fight to pick. Johnson was destroyed by a very game Myles Jury in his
last fight, Jury used crafty clinch work, trips and single leg
take-downs to continually ground Johnson, once on his back Johnson
offered little in the way of sweeps, submission attacks and had a lot of
trouble getting back to his feet. Madadi is an Iranian born former freestyle and
Greco Roman wrestling champion in Sweden. Madadi has a relentless, grinding
style of grappling.Madadi showed some of
his striking prowess in his last fight, contiually landing his jab and
big hooks on BJJ Master/Instructor Cristiano Marcello. Madadi lost that
fight via split decision, I thought he took the first two rounds for
sure and the third was even close with Marcello having a bit more in the
tank at the end of the round.
It will only take a few
take-downs for Madadi to win this fight as Johnson is terrible off his
back, probably his biggest weakness. That being said Johnson is very
good at defending take-downs from traditional wrestlers. Madadi will
most likely be setting up his shots from the outside or attempting them
against the cage, both places Johnson is excellent at defending. If
Madadi watched the tape on Johnson's last fight he might go for the more
crafty clinch style take-downs in the center of the cage and that could
spell doom for Johnson, that being said I'm leaning Johnson via sprawl
and brawl in a super close fight.
Prediction - Johnson via split decision. I've gone back and forth on this fight, probably won't be betting it.

Thanks for the insight guys.

Adlan Amagov
vs.
Chris Spang Preliminary Card | Welterweight | 170 lbs (77.1 kg) I haven't seen these guys fight much in real life and don't have the time to look up footage if there is any. I do remember Ricky Legere Jr, taking Spang down at will in their Strikeforce fight, I guess I'm leaning Amagov.I'll be staying away from this one with the notepad out on these two.
Prediction - Amagov by take-downs, UD.

Another learning fight for me, I know a bit about Brimage and am quite high on him but I have no idea who Conor McGrregor is.....blindly picking Brimage but staying away.

Next three fights are the same, I'll make predictions but they're based on almost nothing, more learning fights for me. Tor Troeng
vs.
Adam Cella Preliminary Card | Middleweight | 185 lbs (83.9 kg)
Take the dude who has a picture on tapology and is fighting at home. Troeng via submission.
LaFlare because he is undefeated and has a cool tapology picture.
Besam Yousef
vs.
Papy Abedi
Confirmed
Preliminary Card | Welterweight | 170 lbs (77.1 kg)
Fading Papy but we've seen like 30 seconds from Yousef in the UFC so lets take Yousef because he wrestles and is 6 years younger!
