This might be one of DJ's best posts...
Something we can agree on .
you guys probably have more in common then you think when you strip away the left/right liberal/conservative labels
My generation ? Do I sound like a hippy? I was a volunteer soldier my friend trying to do the right thing for my country. How about you ? Where did you serve ?
Taxes on homes are levied on values..Cities are going broke because home values have dropped, thanks to Bush.. Hillary warned him 3 years earlier that housing needed a plan, fast.
My state of Fl is scrambling trying to figure out how to make up the tax shortage.

The Bush Administration put out their first plan to reform Fannie Mae & Freddy Mac in 2003.
Also note: Cities are going bankrupt because of public employee pension & health care costs.

daroad, stop with the public employee crap, its real old now.
Cities are always going to need public employees. This is how our type of society works. If you dont like the things cities provide, there are lots of countries you can move to that provide no services to their people. All i can say is MOVE THERE.
Cities are going broke, because populations are growing, yet there are less jobs for people {because they are all being sent overseas}
When are some of you gonna finally grasp some simple math.
You dont have to be a rocket scientist to figure out if population increases, while jobs decreases, that puts extreme pressure on the systems.
I suggest some of you start applying common sense to problems, instead of believing the bs the talking heads keep feeding you.

Sorry Lordy but your generations are the me me me generation.
and if it wasnt for the baby boomers helping to build this country, you would have jack shit today.
Your generation sure as hell didnt build the countries infrstructure, that you use daily.
things like ss and medicare are going broke, because population is increasing, while people paying into the systems are decreasing. Now why is that? Couldnt be, cause of the scumbags moving jobs overseas, now could it![]()
When i was young, i would be working 2 and 3 jobs, kids today dont even want to work 1 part time job. They all think their going to become pro poker players or sell drugs as just a few examples of their thought process.
Lot has to do with how your generation is raising kids today. They are all spoiled and dont respect anybody. Your generation is to busy playing with all the latest tech toys, to be bothered teaching your kids.
I always get a kick out of guys like you who call the baby boomers the me generation, when in fact, its your generation.
Yeah i know a baby boomer is a me me me person, because they want to get paid for the work they performed thru the years![]()

I never said cities don't need employees.Cities are going broke, because populations are growing, yet there are less jobs for people {because they are all being sent overseas}

False. See, every city that has gone bankrupt has cited public employee pensions costs as a driver.
Example:
Stockton said its biggest unsecured creditor is the California Public Employees’ Retirement System, or Calpers, , the largest U.S. pension fund, owed $147.5 million, followed by Wells Fargo Bank NA, as trustee for $124.3 million in pension obligation bonds'

Don't worry, I know you're not really interested in any of these facts anyway.

There you go again 14...always blaming the little guy trying to make a living. Or blaming government employee for try to keep up with the cost of living..
If eveyone was paid a decent salary, the housing market wouldn't have collaped. Because wages has not kept up with the cost of living. That is a fact.. but 50 million dollar CEOs certainly got raises. Congress and government got raises. But unions in the private sector got screwed.
But I know you won't be satisfied until everyone makes minimum wages. Except YOU !

It isn't the government's job to give people jobs or "keep up with the cost of living"
The benefits public employees recieve are unrealistic, outdated, and not at all in line with the private sector.
That is the problem.

canosvp, looks like your another guy who has trouble reading and understanding posts.
Maybe if i wrote it in crayon for you.
Yes of course if the population increases there should be more people paying taxes, but theres a huge problem, there is less and less jobs. So that means more and more people arent paying taxes and instead relying on help from the govt.
Now either your being a total smart ass or you really cant undertsand things you read.

daroad, once again you are wrong.
Sorry but there are certain services in the type of society we live in, where the govt does in fact provide, so since they are the providers of these services, then of course they are the ones who have to provide jobs.
Like i said before, if you dont like the way our society and way of life is setup in our country, then move the fuck out and go live in a country where you wont get any govt services and you can just fend for yourself.
Am 100 percent sure you will come running back to our country.
So whine about something else
