I think I have been pretty clear that I think that Bush and Obama are both criminals, and have abused their office to the point of treason.
If we continue to allow the executive branch to usurp the powers that were given to other branches we will find ourselves in a pretty bad place. We are already hurting due to the movement towards tyranny.
The way that we conduct war is against the law. Our law.
The involvement with the private sector in both administrations is beyond the run of the mill corporate cronyism you would expect. It is direct fraud perpetrated by mandates from the executive seat.
I guess if you do not think that these things are bad, or that they have weakened us as a country I sound like a loon.
The most frustrating part is that guys like don cry their eyes out about the corporate corruption and blame the free market and in the same breath want to give the biggest perpetrators MORE POWER. It makes no sense.
Then next obvious thought that guys like Don will have is we need more regulations.
Yes, we need to ask those who have bent us over to please stop raping us and make sure that it is impossible to rape us again. Only problem? THEY ARE SERIAL RAPISTS.
That's what I'm saying. Bush got a free pass and so will Obama. We agree these people are all corporate paid for crooks, but you guys need to get rid of the systemic problems and the lifetime scum in congress way before you worry about the revolving door of puppets in the White House.
However, I cannot ignore the fact that BOTH administrations have broken numerous international laws and continue to commit human rights violations.
This is getting ridiculous. The pointless partisanship and empty rhetoric in American politics is astounding. Simply put, it's hiding the real issues which are ingrained economic & social problems.

As for your second point, these things did take place. Countries were invaded. POW's have been and continue to be held indefinitely without trial. Don't even get me started on the osama bin laden assasination. There were real consequences to decisions made and if we want to live in a society that endorses human rights and the rule of law, there should be adequate consequences.
I'm not taking anything away from the seriousness of any domestic transgressions, I would think you have a valid argument, but I am not an American. I am a global citizen. Just like everybody else.

Here is a guy who has done everything right.. highly educated, family man with 2 children.. never left his wife, no child support.
For 3 years he has been trying to bring America back from the brink. Trying bring back the middle class. Trying to end wars and save the economy. And yet many still hate him so much.. it makes you wonder, WHY ? They claim it's because he is a socialist, but we have had social security for 70 years. And it's working.
