Guys:
The scene at the Golden Nugget on Friday afternoon certainly got the college football juices flowing a little bit.
This year, Golden Nugget sportsbook director Tony Miller allowed up to five plays each time in line at a dime max.
There were about 16 of us in line by 12:45 p.m. and the Nugget promptly put the numbers up at 1 p.m. All in all, I thought the process went fairly smoothly. Probably the first couple of times in line, it appeared all the bettors were playing the dime max on each wager.
In the past, I had been "represented" in the Nugget's unveiling by one of my Vegas buddies. This year, however, I was able to make it out personally. Hopefully, I'll be able to plan for it each year going forward.
I made 11 plays. If anybody's interested, they were as follows:
Georgia -11 (at Tennessee)
Florida -12 (vs. Tennessee)
Auburn +8 (at Tennessee)
BYU +7.5 (vs. Texas)
WVA +11 (vs. Texas)
Baylor +8 (vs. Texas)
Purdue +17 (vs. Ohio State)
Arizona State Pk (vs. Wisconsin)
Arizona State +4 (vs. Notre Dame in Arlington)
Louisville -17 (vs. Houston)
Michigan +3 (at Northwestern)
Good luck this season,
Paul

Yes. I believe every time a dime was bet, they moved the line one point. Some lines were only moved 1/2 point from the opener. I don't know if this was due to split action on the game or a play of less than a dime. These lines are extremely fluid, much like the Sunday afternoon scene at the Wynn during the season.
Regarding the games I played, Arizona State went to -1; Georgia went to -13.5; BYU went to just +6.5; WVA was initially +12; Baylor initially +9; etc.
Hope this helps,
Paul
