The housing crisis was caused in part because middle class people purchased housing they couldnt afford and sometimes a second house to rent out they also couldn't afford.

A Remington 700 in the right hands is a vastly superior weapon when compared to a fully automatic AK-47. I would trade a Remington 700 with a 6 round magazine to a fully auto with a 100 round drum any day of the week.

My only son Kevin, 9 years old at the time, knocked on the door to see if was there visiting.. I saw him from the dining room so I said, "come on in Son and wait, I'll be leaving in a minute."He sat down at the kitchen bar and waited for me.
Out of the blue, the neighbor's son brought out a 45 caliber hand gun he had to show to me. I was shocked, and never expected that. Like I wanted to see that ? Huh. Anyway.
Instinctively, I said to my son.. Go on home and wait I'll be right out. He got up and left immediately. I few minutes later as the neighbor's son went to hand the gun to his father, it went off ! Blowing a hole in the kitchen window exactly where my son was sitting Rick !. I just got up and walked out.
They were so embarassed and apologized profusely.. When his wife ( who absolutely hated weapons ) came home she came over to my house and apologized and even had tears in her eyes and asked for their forgiveness, saying that there will never be another gun in her house as long as she lives there. My 70 year old neighbor sold all his rifles.
To this very day, 30 years later, I thank God again and again that my son got up and left that day.
