Keith Olbermann was dismissed by Current TV Friday afternoon. His program “Countdown with Keith Olbermann” will be replaced by a new show entitled “Viewpoint with Eliot Spitzer.” Current TV founders Al Gore and Joel Hyatt released a statement announcing Olbermann’s termination. The statement reads in part:
Current was also founded on the values of respect, openness, collegiality, and loyalty to our viewers. Unfortunately these values are no longer reflected in our relationship with Keith Olbermann and we have ended it.
Olbermann will not be allowed a farewell broadcast.

A Current spokeswoman declined to elaborate. But a source familiar with the situation said Olbermann was actually fired Thursday morning, after managers grew increasingly frustrated with his absenteeism and other work habits. The network expects litigation over the ouster, the source added.
The host bashed back quickly. "I'd like to apologize to my viewers and my staff for the failure of Current TV," Olbermann tweeted late Friday. "Editorially, 'Countdown' had never been better." He also vowed a lawsuit against the network.
Patty Glaser, an experienced litigator who has repped Olbermann in the past, did not immediately return a phone message seeking comment.
What did they expect? Did they not know they hired a liberal to begin with?

You guys are a trip. Are you saying Al Gore is 100% correct? I think I see icicles on Satan's earlobes. The truth is, BOTH sides are claiming breach of contract.

They are all angry people, aren't they? Keith, Rush, Rachel, Sean. The list goes on forever. Laura, Ed, Bill. These people must be black and blue on the inside from the filth they spew.

I agree 100% with your list and more... dont forget beck/sharpton
It is funny to watch the people on this site who spill the filth knowing that they are sad "black and blue"/wounded who's only connection to people is the indulgence in hateful/negative rhetoric... As a group it justifies their pathetic existence... Covers knows

I feel like I am a good judge of character, and all biases, and my distaste for the man aside.
I think that he is probably a very smart man, and has very little patience for others. I bet that he is domineering and probably very self centered. I think that (because of his work history) is hard to get along with.
I think that he may have an anger problem. I think his work ethic is suspect, and I think that he believes that he is much more valuable than he really is.

I heard a story about him yelling at people during a convention at lunch because there wasn't ketchup.
I heard a story when he was at MSNBC where he was mad about something so he wouldn't come in to work. They sent a car for him and he said he wasn't getting out of his bath tub. Someone had to fill in for him.

Current TV is saying Olbermen was disdrought after not being selected to host the channels 'Super Tuesday' coverage ,,and so he took off the day before without notice..[ you show them who's boss Keef ]..
The network and sources close to the events said, that Olbermann went through 8 different car services (he doesn’t drive), and complained to the network that some of the drivers “smelled,” and “talked to him,”
The network fired Olbermann for what it says is breach of contract, citing unauthorized absences from work, failure to promote the network, and disparagement of the company and its executives.
Days before he was fired, Current learned that The Young Turks has been beating him in the key 25-54 demographic ...no wonder Current TV and Algore flushed him..
But Starwink,The GoldenGoose and Michael99 if you need your Olberman fix ...he plans to appear onThe Late Show with David Letterman on Tuesday...
