You know, the truth of the matter is that social media is the fad as we speak. Being able to have a huge following equals dollar signs because that is how life really works. Gain a mass following on twitter and you can command a lot of advertising money as an example. You may indeed call it a marketing ploy but call it whatever you want. People need to get paid, there are bills to fullfill and lifestyles to keep up with. Would it make sense for an nba player to live in the projects? No, because he has a certain lifestyle that he needs to fullfill, there might be security personel or even a chef that needs to get paid who are working for him. There are many different scenarios that one can argue about when it comes to SJP but obviously she has a following. And don't get me wrong there are a lot of people who despise of SJP and don't think she is for real, but for those who think she is a fake and want to keep paying attention to her, that makes up a large part of her follwing, but covers saw an opportunity have her as part of an article.
